WWE Star Chris Benoit and entire family found dead

Mods feel free to combine this thread. I just thought this was such a tragic event that it deserved its own thread.

WWE STAR CHRIS BENOIT AND WIFE, FORMER ECW/WCW PERSONALITY WOMAN FOUND DEAD
by Mike Johnson @ 6:04:00 PM on 6/25/2007

We are still awaiting further details, but PWInsider.com is extremely saddened to report that former WWE and WCW World champion Chris Benoit and his wife, former WCW and ECW personality Nancy "Woman" Benoit were both found dead today in Atlanta, Georgia. Obviously this will be a huge developing story in the days to come but at this point, we'd like to express our deepest condolences to the Benoits' family, friends, and fans at this time.

A meeting is currently ongoing at WWE TV and it is expected that tonight's three hour Raw will now be dedicated to Benoit's memory.
Just horrible news.

Holy shit, its like we have to talk about the death of a wrestler almost every couple of months, but this sounds like it could be from different reasons.

Wrestling Observer is reporting that his son Daniel was found dead as well.

"Benoit, wife Nancy aka Woman and son Daniel were all found dead. We have no other details at this moment. It is believed that Chris Benoit's two other children were in Canada."

are you kidding me?! Oh man, that's terrible news. I don't watch much wrestling anymore, but I feel sick hearing this. I got to meet Benoit ever so briefly at WM18 - very cordial and accomodating even though he was getting mobbed by fans and looked like he'd rather be anywhere but there at the time. By all accounts he has always been one of the most stand up guys in the business. Very sad news, indeed. I can't believe it.

This is just so sad. Benoit always seemed like just a genuinely good family man that had the respect of nearly everyone in the business. I know the situation with Nancy and Kevin Sullivan was ugly, and God I hope that had nothing to do with this.

It's just shocking. I wanted to come and bitch about the stupid McMahon angle and enjoy the weekly distraction that wrestling has represented for most of my life. I wonder how long the wrestlers have known about this and how they can go out there tonight on such short notice. Everything just feels petty and small compared to how sad I am that one of my childhood heroes and someone that has given me so much enjoyment over so many years has passed so needlessly.

R.I.P. Chris, Nancy, and Daniel.

Un-fucking believable. My heart just sank when I went over to wwe.com as soon as I got home. Just un-real, so many questions.....just crazy. I remember reading that he missed the ppv last nite because he had to tend to family issues on saturday nite, then he's found dead and his family as well. Just wow.

It was posted on some wrestling sites prior to the PPV that Benoit wasn't appearing because he had to go home to handle some "family problems" and therefore wouldn't be at Vengence. Doesn't take a lot to think this problem, whatever it was, may have had something to do with his death. I am honestly speechless.

WOW!

What else can you say but WOW!

EDIT: what will suck is when the mainstream media get ahold of this and chalks it up as yet another wrestling related/induced death.

Was there any more info: violent or non-violent? If it was the winter, I'd say gas or CO, considering it was a whole family.

God is not a hitman who is going to kill all of Vince's employees because he didn't like an angle Vince did.

One other thing, am I not the only person that thought...where's Kevin Sullivan? I mean, I can't believe this has happened, but the first thing I thought of reading the news here was Sullivan.

Oh my god. I don't even know what to say. I had this bad feeling something was going to happen as soon as this whole McMahon death angle started and then boom, we lose Sherri and Benoit....

There is NO CHANCE IN HELL the Vince storyline will continue after this. If losing Chris isn't a damn wake up call, i don't know what it's going to take. Raw is going to be tough to watch tonight.

I feel a little sick.

Wow, I don't know what to say. Chris was always one of my favorite Horsemen. RIP Chris, the business won't be the same without you.

I almost threw up when I read the news. I've been following his career in print and on TV since his days with Davey Boy up in Stampede. Just an awesome wrestler.

He will be dearly missed.

RIP Chris.

Um yeah, I'm just saying.

Eerie though. Eddie was scheduled to win the World Heavyweight title the day he died, Owen was going to win the IC title when he died, and most likely Benoit would have won the ECW title. Um?

Well they say he left the PPV yesterday to attend to a family emergency, then today the family is dead. I am not an expert but it sounds to me it could be a murder/suicide or possibly he found his family deceased and took his own life. All speculation right now...
