Fantasy Baseball Lineup Assistance Requested

The following is how my positional players "breakdown" on my team:

C
Víctor Martínez (Cle - C,1B)
Chris Iannetta (Col - C)

1B
Albert Pujols (StL - 1B)
Howie Kendrick (LAA - 1B,2B)
Prince Fielder (Mil - 1B)
Víctor Martínez (Cle - C,1B)

2B
Freddy Sánchez (Pit - 2B,3B,SS)
Howie Kendrick (LAA - 1B,2B)

3B
Aramis Ramírez (ChC - 3B)
Akinori Iwamura (TB - 3B)
Alex Gordon (KC - 3B)
Freddy Sánchez (Pit - 2B,3B,SS)

SS
Stephen Drew (Ari - SS)
Freddy Sánchez (Pit - 2B,3B,SS)

OF
Carl Crawford (TB - OF)
Magglio Ordóñez (Det - OF)
Delmon Young (TB - OF)

As you can see I have an abundance of players at 1B and 3B. I am wondering who would be best to divest myself of so that I can garner an additional multi-position player (ie; including OF) and/or SP for the season. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for the assist.

I don't know what positions you start everyday but, I never carry more than one catcher unless my primary catcher goes on the DL so that's where I'd start. I know Iwamura is off to a hot start but are you really going to play him ahead of Ramirez or someone else at a utility position. He will surely fall back to earth shortly and I wouldn't want to be playing him while he is falling back to his expected numbers.

Thanks.

Our daily lineups are C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, OF, OF, OF, U.

And my usual lineup is as follows:

Víctor Martínez (C)
Albert Pujols (1B)
Freddy Sánchez (2B)
Stephen Drew (SS)
Iwamura / Gordon (3B)
Carl Crawford (OF)
Magglio Ordóñez (OF)
Delmon Young (OF)
Aramis Ramírez (U)

Martínez might be heading to the DL soon, so I'm a little hesitant to drop Iannetta at the moment just to have him clear waivers and have to resign him next week.

From MLB.com

"The Vic watch: The Indians felt comfortable enough with Shoppach in the starting role and Ryan Garko on hand as an emergency backup to send Triple-A catcher Mike Rose back to Buffalo.

Rose had made the journey to Milwaukee in the event that Martinez was added to the 15-day disabled list, but that has not happened. The club is still taking it day by day with Martinez, who worked out in Cleveland on Wednesday after the birth of his daughter a day before.

As for when Martinez will return, the Indians are hoping this weekend's series against the White Sox provides the answer.

"We're gonna know a lot more by this weekend," Wedge said."

---

So, I suppose you'll know by then whether or not to keep Iannetta. But definitely dump him asap.

Yeah, I agree with above and keep only one catcher. It looks like Martinez will avoid the DL, and the few extra games shouldn't make much of a diffference. After him I'd look at guys like Sanchez and Iwamura. Sanchez is essentially empty batting average, and he'll probably hit around .300 this year. Still his versatility is worth something in case Kendrick or Drew fail.

Though you don't have to make a move this early. Having extra hitters in the early stages is also usually a better strategy than extra pitchers.

On a side note, I'd play Ramirez at 3B and Prince at utility.

I have Alex Gordon too. He's not hitting. If he doesn't figure it out soon, he will probably be sent down.
