I think the Cubs/Astros game is going to be postponed. It's hailsnowing right now and the field will probably be really wet.

Can the Twins hold the yankees to less than 8 runs on the might arm of Ramon Ortiz?

A-Rod is on crack....he's just tearing the cover off the ball. Pettitte looked pretty decent last night too.

A-rod became the first MLB player ever to hit 7 HRs and have 15 RBIs in the first week of the season. That's unreal. Think he'll avoid boos until the All-Star break now?

Arod wants that April HR record. Griffey and Luis Gonzalez had it at 13. Pujols broke it at 14 recently.

ARod wants to be called the best player in the game again, as well.

Gonna try and catch these today, thanks to the MLBEI free preview.

St. Louis at Pittsburgh
Chicago Sox at Oakland
Seattle at Boston
NY Yankees at Minnesota
San Francisco at San Diego

I thought Tony Kornheiser had a good line about A-Rod's early success on PTI this week when he said all this streak is going to buy him is one mid June strikeout with Yankee fans.

[Yankee$ hater] A-Rod could hit 200 HRs and bat .950 in the regular season and he'll hit .150 with 1 RBI when it matters

He's already pretty much the highest paid player in the game on a team with the highest payroll. Where can he go from there? I don't think any team is going to pony up $30 million+ a year for him.

Maybe he'll play so well that the Rangers will pony up a 3rd of the money for his contract for the Yankees again.

So for some stupid reason, Clint Hurdle seems to be platooning Willy Taveras -- he with a .282 Avg, 4 HR, 59 RBI, and .327 OBP in 1146 ABs -- with Jeff Baker in the OF.

The same Jeff Baker that hit .305/20/108 at AAA last year with a .877 OPS, despite playing 18 games in a September callup for Colorado where he hit .368/5/21 with a 1.204 OPS.

Did I mention that he's 7-for-11 to start the season so far this year?

Get this guy some playing time and quit playing a piece of shit player like Taveras!

(yes, I have Baker on my fantasy team and he's a solid player)

It's possible. But the game will probably already be out of hand at that point. Especially if Rondell White is in the lineup.

While I don't know how fast Baker is, Taveras provides a ton of speed on the base path when he does get on. That's my guess.
