Why do players still talk about being 'outcoached'

Richard Seymour of the Patriots is the latest victim.

Why do players still bring up being outcoached? Every single time they catch so much flak and people criticize them left and right. You think they would have learned by now that little bit of post game frustration isn't worth everything afterwards

Players just execute the plays. The coaches tell them what plays to execute.

You are completely missing the point

I'm talking about after games when a losing player talks about the team getting outcoached. When was the last time after someone said that did anyone go, 'you know what he's right, they were outcoached.' Whoever says 'outcoached' always catches so much flak. So why even bring it up?

I think there are two main reasons:

1. Sometimes the simple fact is that they were actually outcoached, and that's that.

2. They know it's going to get under the coach's skin. It's like an adopted kid saying "You're not my real father anyway!" to daddy whenever things don't go his/her way.

The last time this happened was...Sunday, when Richard Seymour said it. Because he was right.

And the person that did it before him was Jeremy Shockey and he was.... RIGHT!
