NCAA Head Coach Trade Offer...

OK, we got suckered at San Diego State and hired Chuck Long as head coach. This season has been the worst in the last 45 years for the Aztecs, and it was topped off last night by a loss to Division 1-AA Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Long's offensive coordinator, Del Miller, called only 9 pass plays in the first 3 1/2 quarters - despite the fact that starting QB Kevin Craft was very successful in the pass plays that they did call, and hit on 2 TD passes in the first quarter.

Miller's run up the middle 3 times then punt (Martyball) strategy (starting in the 2nd quarter) kept Cal Poly in the game until, finally, one of the SDSU running backs fumbled the ball deep in our own territory, giving Cal Poly the opportunity for the winning field goal. Long never once interfered with this play calling, and let the game slip away at the end.

So, since Long did such a great job at Oklahoma as offensive coordinator, the Aztec fans are laying out a trade offer to any team willing to take him.

In return for Long all we will accept trade offers for TE coaches, OL coaches, or even a case of Gatorade.

Any takers? (We'll throw Miller in as a "bonus.")

Sounds like the Arizona Cardinals vs. the Bears (or pretty much any team). Try them
