Glad Carolina is on NBC. Which means my FOX is forced to show me a different team.

Man, what a mistake. Cowboys don't have enough firepower to make the playoffs with Romo running the show. Romo is no Tom Brady.

Drew Bledsoe sucks. He might lead a team to the playoffs, but do you think there's a chance in hell of winning? Might as well put Romo in there and see if he can develop.

This is where Bill and Jerry really messed up. Romo is now a 4th year guy somehow (won't even get into into the Henson mess), other than the hottie factor for Iggie, I don't see him being a Staubach or Aikman. Cowboys just need a guy who won't give the game away at this point, not someone to develop, and they don't have it.

Bill and Drew both look like they are done this year, and it's not really even Owen's fault.. Go figure.

Dennis Green will be the Cards coach until he resigns. There is no way the Cards pay the rest of his huge contract for him to sit at home. They will make him turn the ship around.

And frankly, I think they can do it. They need a solid line coach, and should definitely invest high picks on OL and hit the FA market hard for a solid veteran. Their defense is quite good, and with their firepower on offense, if this team has a solid line next year, they could make the playoffs.

I completely agree. Look at what Huchinson has done for Minn, and done TO seattle.

I'm a Bronco fan, but I'm predicting that Indy is about to come to Denver and whip all kinds of Bronco ass. I think Denver has been very lucky to get to 5-1. Anyone think otherwise?

While their defense has been dominant, they have struggled on offense. If the score starts to creep into the mid-20s, I think they'll have a hard time keeping up.

you guys arent even giving him a real chance. had he gone to a big name school, you wouldnt care that its his 4th year. the guy wasnt even drafted and to even be where he is is accomplishment enough. at least he's playing in the NFL.

were you talking about me? I was disappointed to hear he has a girlfriend.

Tiki Barber calls Michael Irvin an idiot. I love it:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2639376

Updated: Oct. 26, 2006, 12:51 PM ET
Tiki torches 'idiots' for criticizing retirement decisionESPN.com news services

Tiki Barber blasted critics of his retirement decision on his Tuesday night Sirius Satellite Radio show, "The Barber Shop."

"...I will call them idiots, because they have neither spoken to me, nor any one of my teammates or any of my coaches," Barber said. "Yet all they do is criticize me for being a distraction with this retirement thing."

Barber was specifically upset at three of his critics: the New York Daily News' Gary Myers, who wrote that Barber had "created a season-long distraction" the Giants "don't need"; and ESPN's Tom Jackson, who said the decision "has distracted the team from the task at hand," and Michael Irvin.

"To me, in my head, that's quitting," Irvin said before the Giants' 36-22 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. "That's not retiring."

Barber singled the three out during his radio show Tuesday night.

"And that includes Gary Myers," he said. "That includes Tom Jackson on ESPN. That includes the ultimate character guy, facetiously speaking of course, Michael Irvin. Please get a clue on how to be a journalist.

"Don't make blanket assumptions about it [retirement]. And obviously, as was evidenced [Monday] night, I am a huge distraction to the New York Giants," he said.

The remarks come a week after it was first learned Barber was considering retiring after this season.

"I've been talking about retirement for years now, and it has nothing to do with being physical or money or Hall of Fame," Barber said at the time. "It's all about my desires, and for me to change them would compromise my integrity and would compromise who I am as a person and what I've always stood for."

Asked whether there was added pressure to win this year because of his plans, Barber said: "The pressure's always there, it's no different just because you guys know that I'm going to retire this year.

"I'm a diverse person," Barber said. "I have a lot of interests, and at some point it's time to execute a plan that's been in place for me for about seven and a half, eight years."

Still, Barber wouldn't commit to saying his retirement was 100 percent certain.

"It's Week 6 of the NFL season, so I won't say that," he said at the time.

However, he also said there was "nothing" that would change his mind.

Now in his 10th season, the 31-year-old Barber said that he has been banged up more this season than in any previous one and that his passion for the game has waned.

Barber, who has spoken about retiring a couple times in the past year, has a myriad interests off the field. He has worked in television and has discussed possible jobs in finance and philanthropy.

"I have a lot of interests and I've never wanted to be solely defined as a football player," said Barber, who will earn $4.15 million this season. "I wasn't that way in high school, I wasn't that way in college and I won't compromise my ideals to be that way in the National Football League."

Longtime teammate Amani Toomer believes Barber is serious about quitting after this season.

"Knowing Tiki, he is not the type of guy to just say things," Toomer said. "Whatever he says, he means."

Linebacker Brandon Short thinks the talk of Barber's will not distract the team.

"Tiki is an outstanding player and I hope he stays with the Giants and plays forever, so I can watch him play and he can help us win some championships," Short said. "Right now, our focus is the task at hand and that's the 2006 season."

I really don't know why it would be a distraction. It's not like the press is going to stop interviewing the Giants players altogether without it. If anything, it might help - "let's win the whole fucking thing for Tiki."

Only if Indie's new nose tackle acquisition will help them against the run - and he may. Otherwise, I'd foresee the Broncos running up and down the field, killing clock and wearing out the Colts' D. And who better to stop Manning than the Broncos' secondary?

Basically, Denver cannot allow the big play and cannot give the Colts a two-score lead. If the Broncos have to come from behind, I give them no chance. If they keep it close, I think they'll close it out in the fourth quarter.

As a New England fan, I'm not liking the way the schedule's lining up. We have to play the Colts next week after a shortened practice schedule due to the Monday night game. If the Broncos beat the Colts on Sunday (a good chance, I think), then they're gonna be hungry for a win. I'd rather not play the Colts in their place and coming off a loss.

But who to root for? Again, from the perspective of a team that might have to face the Colts and/or Broncos in the playoffs... I'd rather play an away game at Indie than at Denver. Tagging another loss on Denver might give the rest of the AFC a better chance come playoff time.

Ditto. I think Tiki is a class act on and off the field. I have no doubt that when he retires (whever that will be), he will go into business and do well.

Suprisingly MI has grown on me. He can still say some stupid things, but i think he has matured a bit as a tv guy. He definately deserves to get fired back on after his comments though.

Anyone that recognizes and points out Irvin's idiocy is okay in my book. I really wish ESPN would have canned him after his last arrest.
