Fantasy Football Trade Question

I've been offered the following trade:

I get Chester Taylor

I give Shaun Alexander

Two week ago I would have thought it was a joke. Not Alexander isn't doing much and got hurt to boot, is this a bad idea?

I wouldn't do that straight up. Maybe, if they throw in another player.

I'd keep Alexander. All indications are that the injury shouldn't keep him out that long. Taylor's a decent player, but he's no Alexander.

Unless you are completely desperate, wait it out. As long as you can make your league's playoffs, Alexander will be a good player to have during that timeframe.

Speaking of, I wonder how many crap for Alexander offers went out today.

right now I'm kind of panicked because my other RB, Willie Parker, has a Bye next week which leaves me starting D. Rhodes and L. Betts. Or Morris as a replacement for Alexander.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I've been offered:
I get M. Harrison and W. McGahee
I give LT

Also, I would keep Alexander

I am of the mind you never trade an elite RB (LJ, SA, LT) period. I wouldn't do this deal for Harrison and Tiki.

As good as Harrison is, in general, even teh best WRs are streaky fantasy players. McGahee is a good back behind a terrible line. Even though he got 150 last week, he didn't score. Even when LT rushes for 40 yds, there are usually 2 TDs attached to it.

Bottom line - LT stays.

I would stick with Shaun Alexander, and this is coming from a Minnesota Vikings fan who thinks Taylor will have a good year. Taylor is going to be solid all year, but when Alexander comes back, I'm willing to bet that he starts getting back to being the Shaun Alexander of old.

If you're worried about Alexander, I'm pretty sure you could get something more for him than Chester Taylor.

As it is, I would not do that trade.

As far as the LT trade, I would say it depends on who else is on your roster and your scoring. If your #1 WR is Matt Jones, it may make a little more sense.

Alexander is probably going to miss 2 to 3 games. He'll miss this week at Chicago, then his bye week, then they play at St. Louis. I don't think he'd play on turf coming back from the injury.

After that, he should be close to ready to go. So that's 2 games missed with a possible 3rd after that if necessary.

It's not a bad injury. Probably more painful and weakening then anything. 3 games would be a month, that's plenty of time.

Don't trade him.

Kept Alexander... still got Taylor, along with Buffalo DEF by trading Holt and Pitts DEF.

i have Jake Plummer, Rex Grossman
WRs Holt, Roy Williams, Troy Williamson

we play in a 1 qb, 2 wr, 1rb, 1 flex (rb/wr) league

someone offered me drew bledsoe for troy williamson
i hate having plummer on my roster but there is a lack of good 3rd Wrs in our league, i think grossman is solid but i dunno..

What RB's do you have?

On the surface, I may be tempted to make that trade but, see if you can give him Grossman or Plummer for a WR on his team that he doesn't like as much as Williamson.

Bledsoe and the DAL offense is pretty good right now -- 10th in passing I think -- but, their schedule is pretty friendly for awhile.

If Antonio Gates has another average game today, is it time to deal him? Rivers just isn't getting him the ball this year, and Gates' value is still high early in the season. I have Ben Watson as my backup and Brady looks for him all the time....
