Monday Night Football VS Sunday Night Football

All football fans know this:

MNF moves to ESPN from ABC. NBC gets the contract for SNF. Al Michaels and John Madden jump ship from MNF to SNF.

Which the changes this year in both MNF and SNF, I was curious which you think is now better?

Was Thursday's game a "Sunday Night Football" game? I thought NBC's "score bug" was really lacking and I didn't care for the theme music.

It will be hard to compare until MNF actually starts, but, if I had to guess, I would say SNF will beat MNF.

SNF is getting Costas back on the air for something besides the Olympics. 'Nuff said.

By better, I assume you mean which has more premium matchups. Therefore, the answer is SNF.

Madden and Michaels > Theisman and Kornheiser. I don't know how to spell his name and don't care because I simply can't stand the man. Therefore, Sunday Night Football is miles better in my opinion.

After seeing Andrea Kremer in HD, I vote for MNF.

The music theme for Sunday Night Football really blows. John Williams can go to hell.

What he said. I work nights so I rarely get to see MNF, and SNF was a great way to wrap up the day. Not anymore.

that said I guess I can put up with being told something I already know to get good games, MNF certainly gets the leftovers.

I think Costas is the best sportscaster working, but they only have him in the studio. Madden and Theisman cancel each other out, Tirico is better than Michaels, and the Kolber/Tafoya combination is infinitely superior to Kremer. Kornheiser is just gravy.

Monday Night Football

All that matters to me is which has the better game for that week. I could care less about announcers and theme music. It's still NFL football, and since the Chargers are playing tonight I'll go with MNF for this week.

Simply because it lead directly to the NFL's greedy agreement with NBC to give them exclusive rights to extended footage on Sundays, which basically killed off ESPN's NFL Primetime with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson (my usual NFL fix for many, many years), I absolutely hate Sunday Night Football on NBC.

(Sportscenter's NFL Blitz with Berman and Jackson is just too short and the new Monday NFL Primetime without Berman and Jackson is simply not the same.)

So who are the people involved in the new NFL Primetime? I knew that Stuart Scott replaced Berman as host but didn't know that Jackson wasn't coming back.

I miss Primetime. I didn't like the NBC highlight show. As much as I like listening to Costas, it was offset by having to listen to Sharpe and Collingsworth. The NFL Network show "NFL Gameday" wasn't that bad. It looks that Deion has actually toned down his act from his CBS days. But who knows, it was only the first week.

I should add that I am biased. I can watch SNF at home, which isn't the case for MNF.

Tom Jackson called Michael Irvin retarded on the pre-game show yesterday.

I would imagine that ESPN will get a lot of complaints from the mentally challenged community.
Then, Tom Jackson will be fired, and Michael Irvin will brake down and cry on Sunday and tell the audience how he had to go home and look his son in the face and tell him that he was not in fact retarded.
Then Chris Berman will tell the audience that the whole team was shocked an appalled by Toms comments last week, even though they didn't seem to find anything wrong with them when they were originally aired.

It has always been MNF > SNF.

MNF always felt like a special event. Rich tradition. The only game of the day (except for today, I guess). Wraps up the week of NFL.

SNF felt like just another game on Sundays: every Sunday, there were the early games (1 p.m. ET), the late games (4 p.m. ET), and the really late game (SNF).

I'll withold my vote until I actually see tonight's MNF. I'm going to be up late anyway since my baseball team is in the west coast.

I generally prefer Monday night football. After watching 6 or 7 straight hours of football Sunday afternoon, the Sunday night game just feels like overkill - especially if it's a matchup I don't really care much about.
