I predict the Blackhawks further cement their standing as the most incompetent sports franchise in the world.

Will Luongo end up in Detroit?

Seems likely as of now. Datsyuk likely headed the other way or to the Bruins as part of a 3 team deal.

I'm slightly disappointed Crosby didn't win the Calder, but I have no problem with Ovechkin winning it. He had a great season.

He didn't even come close, either. It was something like 124 1st place votes for Ovechkin, 4 for Crosby, and 1 for Lundqvist (who wasn't even on the ballot).

Big trade talk coming from the draft...
Leafs in the process of trading for a starting goalie
Hurricanes in talk to get the #2 pick from pittsburgh for jack johnson (last years #3) after which they will draft marc staal
Chris Pronger has asked Edmonton for a trade, for personal family reasons. Not financial, or anything to do with the Oiler organization.

I thought it was funny that someone gave Crosby a 2nd place vote for the Lady Byng after all of his well publicized and oft criticized complaining.

Luongo teaming with a nice Vancouver core could be very interesting next year. I would have thought Detroit would have offered a better package, but seeing Detroit plus Luongo might just have been scary good.

The Panthers have confirmed that they acquired Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan Allen and Alexander Auld from the Canucks in exchange for Roberto Luongo and Lukas Krajicek.

As is, we're kind of over-rated. We couldn't have offered more. We had one player who I think is worth more than Bertuzzi in a trade, Datsyuk, but Keenan didn't need a center. I am more than sure that Keenan would have wanted Nik Kronwall from us, and he's got the potential to be the "next" Lidstrom so he (and Zetterberg) are untouchable.

I think the goalie we would have offered, Jimmy Howard, will be better than Auld, though.

Folks in Detroit are very disappointed we didn't get Luongo and if we don't get Biron as plan B, short of a shocker that no one has even thought up, fans will be disappointed with pretty much anyone else. We don't want Giguere, Nabakov, or Raycroft, and I've read the Wings don't see Gerber as an upgrade.

The only good thing is that we won't be paying a goalie 7 million/year (what I've read the 'Nucks will likely have to pay Roberto to keep him) and can spend that money on other needs. Again, the Wings aren't as good as their record last season indicated. They need to add about 4-5 players through free agency and/or trades.

I think, if Buffalo wants to add an offensive star d-man, a good deal would be Schneider for Biron. Biron is clearly a back up now and makes over 2 million, so the Sabres won't be able to get too much for him. I hope he's a Wing before the end of today's draft.

You are right since before getting traded, Luongo rejected a 5 year, $30 million dollar contract offer from the Panthers.

Bertuzzi has to be happy that he will rarely visit Colorado now.
