Crap. Hopefully this doesn't go bad for the school.

NCAA statutes prohibit student-athletes or their families from receiving extra benefits from professional sports agents, marketing companies or their representatives. A breach of these statutes could result in an athlete being ruled ineligible, and games in which they played could be forfeited.
Uh oh.

You mean they might lose their three-peat?

Has USC ever had a 13 game losing streak?

Good thing no one investigated while Bush was actually living there and playing NCAA ball. How long before someone looks into Matt with his body gaurds and his second, larger insurance policy, in 2012?

Who cares about this? If true, it just means that while USC and the TV networks were making bank off of him, he tried to get a little back.

Something tells me he'll still be drafted #1.

It's not a problem for Bush, it's a problem for USC.

USC is a sacred cow, nothing will come of this except the NCAA getting mad because Bush didn't give them a cut.

Slap on the wrist. USC is indeed a sacred cow, and they won't sacrafice it.

Well, deservedly, if they knew anything about it.

Exactly. If this was a smaller school, then they would come down hard, but USC? No way. Like that old Jerry Tarkanian quote: “The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they’re gonna give Cleveland State two more years’ of probation”

I'm just hoping this somehow results in a OU being declared the winner of 2004 Championship game so I can finally wear that Oklahoma 2004 Orange Bowl Champions t-shirt I bought.

J/K

Spoiler:
but only about the t-shirt

In more good news for USC, the #1 quarterback recruit in next year's class--Jimmy Clausen, who is from LA--just chose Notre Dame over USC.

The only thing Bush may be worried about is losing the Heisman Trophy.

[cliche']I know someone would have to pry that from my cold dead hands[/cliche']

If USC looses their Rose Bowl money, I would like to see a precedent where they successfully sue Michaels, and possibly Bush and get their lost money back. Makes those responsible pay and they might not do it again.

Damn....it would have been nice to have a third top rated quarterback in the can waiting to start.

You mean second quarterback - looks like Mark Sanchez was just arrested today for sexual assault. Is USC imploding or something? Looks like Winston Justice is also being implicated in the New Era/Bush quagmire - going to get a whole lot worse for USC before it gets better, IMO.

Stunningly good timing with the Sanchez story breaking

And doesn't Booty have a significant injury?

Your the starting QB at USC, you can probably get laid while walking outside to get your mail. Dumbass

the #1 quarterback recruit in next year's class--Jimmy Clausen
When you're almost 2 years older then everyone in your grade level you tend to look a lot better then they do, he'll be a 20 year old true freshman next year

And they weren't exactly the best team in '04 either.
