MLB Sunday (08/14)

No standings info.

That kid Francoeur kid has got a fucking cannon for an arm. He's in the top 5 in outfield putouts and he's been in the league for about a month.

Ummm yeah. Note to all teams playing the Braves. Don't run on Francoeur.

I wonder if he can pitch?

[cough] Closer! [/cough]

Furcal would be sooooooooo much better of a player if he stopped trying to be Hank Aaron.

Hilarious. I just had an argument with a guy in my league last week......trying to explain to him that Javy Vazquez sucks and is not worth my OF Kevin Mench.

Dear Bobby Cox,

Now would be a "good" time to put in Kolb.

Yup. Kinda unbelievable how bad it is, year after year. It looked like things had turned around last year and this, but after getting rid of 3/5ths our opening day battery it's worse than ever. The rain needed to start up in the top half of the fifth.

Not a good weekend to be an all-star pitcher in Boston. Clement looked as bad as Garland and Buehrle did.

Gammons said this morning that Griffey Jr has cleared waivers so hopefully the White Sox can get the deal done. Some guy on one the White Sox fan sites just posted how he wouldn't trade Chris Young for Griffey and the thread is already up yo 4 pages of people torching him.

If I lose my fantasy league this year, I'll be sure to send a memo thanking Javier Vazquez. And John Lackey's off to a bad start himself today. If Matt Morris implodes, I think I'll just have to go kill somebody. Javier Vazquez would probably be a good place to start. And then I'll go for Jeter, just because...

The chances of Matt Morris imploding are good to excellent.....I should know, he's on my team too.

Sammy gets a big from the Blue Jays for his miscue in the outfield today and thus getting us the win. Although Batista was also in a generous mood and almost gave the game away in the ninth.

Angels get back to back homers from Vlad and Bengie Molina and lead the Mariners 6-3.

In other news, at Dodger stadium....

Funny little conspiracy theory floated on NESN. Gerald Willams and Pedro have a nasty history dating back to an HBP that led to a big brawl in 2000 when Williams was with TB. So Williams is playing center for NYM during Petey's no hit bid today. Antonio Perez hits a ball to the wall, and while it would have been a great catch had Williams hauled it in, he did seem to pull a little "alligator arms" action on it, bracing for the wall a good 4-5 feet before he hit. So Perez ends up on 3rd, and Pedro's no-hitter is gone. Probably legit, but curious nonetheless.
