The Big Steroid is "out of town and on vacation" and won't be in town this evening to tear down the #25 on the outfield wall during the countdown at Busch.

Looks like Tony Perez will be doing the duty.

At this pace, the Devil Rays will pass them in a couple of weeks. The D-Rays are actually playing somewhat decent ball these days (6 game win streak, 8-2 in the last 10 games).

I'm still in shock that the Twins pulled one out of their asses last night.

What's with Prior and first innings lately? It's like he's suddenly become Gil Meche.

Well, Lee Mazzilli won't be winning anymore games this year. He was just fired.

Before the beginning of the season, he was one of the manager that was on the hot seat to lose his job.
The O's hot start gave him a reprieve but with the latest tailspin, I guess the higher ups were fed up and decided to let him go.

Are we allowed to use the word "reprieve" in the sports forum?

What's wrong with it? Is there a history behind it on this forum?

I feel bad for the Royals..

They have to put uniforms on piles of crap and call it a team. Angel Berroa is the worst player I've ever seen....

Isn't he always "out of town" from St Louis anyways? Doesn't he live in Newport Beach?

The second half of the Cuban Pitching Crisis (Jose Contreras) is nearly giving me a heart attack.

Then again, that overthrow by Crede in the 4th that eventually lead to 3 runs didn't help. But Jose, stop with the fucking walks!

Yes, he's retired and lives where he has always lived - in California. I just find it horribly amusing for some reason that a retired multi-millionaire would use the excuse that he is "out of town on vacation" for anything. It's not like the schmuck is going to work tomorrow (or lives in the area for that matter). If I was a retired multi-millionaire - every freakin' day would be a vacation.

It's lack of history in the sports forum is exactly why you should not be using it. Ever.
