I don't think so...there's a reason why it hasn't happend in a long time.

Although he's having a hell of a season right now and definitely has a chance.

I would like to see it, however I don't think so just cause it's so hard to keep all three of those numbers continuously high for an entire season.

If he had ever performed at these levels before, like say Albert Pujols, I might give him a shot, but he hasn't so I don't see it happening.

Did anyone watch the Cubs/Cardinals game on Fox today? I guess Buck & McCarver were pre-emptivaley justifiying giving Pujols the MVP EVEN IF Lee got the triple crown

As much as I would love to see it happen...sorry but it's not a task that I see Derrek Lee accomplishing!

I think he will lose out in RBI's, but it is quite possible. Other than a few other NL ballparks (Coors, etc.) you can't find a better place than Wrigley to hit in during the summertime.

Not only do I think he'll miss the Triple Crown, I predict he'll fall out of the top spot in all 3 categories before the end of the season.

I watch him nearly everday, and I really can't seem him dropping the 35-40 points in BA he would to drop behind Pujols.

I don't think he'll do it. It is just far too much to do in a season. Unless the rest of the league takes the rest of the season off, he'll probably still win BA and probably HR, but not RBI.

Plus, as the season gets serious (for playoff berths), the other managers aren't going to let DLee beat them, which means he'll get less juicy pitches to hit, and that will lower his HR and RBI totals too, but his walk totals will go up!

If Burnitz and Ramirez keep hitting at a productive pace behind him, they'll have to pitch to him a little more than they would like.

I think he'll fall short on the RBI's. The Cubs 1 & 2 hitters have the 2nd worse OBP in MLB, however w/Patterson in AAA and Neifi down in the lineup and (Finally) Hairston and Walker batting 1&2 he could pick up the RBI production. Hopefully w/Nomar coming back in about 3 weeks he can get on base in front of Lee (if bats 2nd and hits like he's capable). If he had people getting on somewhat consistently in the first half of the season he'd probably have about 100 RBIs right now. I see him win the batting title - he'd have to go in a huge slump and either Polous and/or Carbera will have to get really hot for Lee to lose a .30 - .40 lead.

I think he'll win batting, but not top 3 in homers or rbis.

like other have said, he's definitely not dropping out of the top 3 in batting average.

No Andrew Jones will hit more HR's and Pujos will get more RBI's and Lee will win the batting title, this is my opinion.

I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't even lead his team in RBIs or HR's the way Ramirez is swinging the bat. The Cubs play a lot of games against St Louis and Houston so they probably won't pitch to Lee, which means Ramirez may have more RBI opportunities w/Lee on base 45% of the time.

Would love to see it happen but the RBI are too tough to get in that lineup

It's not looking too good for Lee right now - barely winning in avg., third in rbi with several people right behind him, and tied for second in homers. I think avg. will be the only one he does finish in the top three as I don't see Moises Alou or Brady Clark hitting much better than they already are. Lee's been very cold as of late - good for my Astros.
