I had hear the story, but the pictures make it 100 times better. I can't help but laugh, but damn that has to leave a mark. At least she seems okay.

What do they do to clear the blood from the water in the event that something like this happens?

I sure as hell wouldn't want to jump in a pool that had blood in it.

My guess is that the amount of chlorine in there would more than kill any bloodborne pathogen risks.

As far as I know, there are no sharks in the water during diving competitions. But I'm going tomorrow to see the men's 10 m event so I can doublecheck if you like.
