Hopefully, the Sox-Yankees game goes 25 innings and the ESPYs will get cancelled.

Yeah, just what we need: 25 inning would do that bullpen a world of good.......

The Braves sent Davies down so that Hampton could get hammered? Ugh.

Good point. I guess theres no avoiding it. And there will probably be a crapload of commercials for it during the game.

I've got it on in the kitchen; broadcast team is anticipating/theorizing the worst.

This just could be Omar and Willie trying to save him for later in the season; they encouraged his ASG 'regrets' and as early as Opening Day they had already worked the rotation around getting him that extra fifth day of rest, plus he has his personal catcher. With the way Beltran is going bust this year, the last thing Omar wants to do is prove correct everyone who said Petey wasn't worth $54M/4......

EDIT: Altho, there were a few times earlier in the season that I felt they left him in too long when they had a substantial lead; and with that bullpen of theirs, well......

EDIT2: and for the Black Helicopter fans out there, neither Burroughs for SD nor Lowell for Florida was in today's starting lineups; not sure if they subbed in later in the game or not.

Honestly, I'm not buying the rumor at this point regardless of having read the Marlins forum and the furor all afternoon. However, Lowell was not used at any point during the game, and they used two righthanded pinch-hitters late. Burroughs hasn't been used to this point, but Halsey is still pitching, so that's not a surprise.

I've been listening to ESPN Radio's national show all day, and they glossed over it as a passing rumor once, focusing on the other destinations for Burnett.

Normally, I'd agree but screw that - Bucknell won an award.

Losing 3 out 4 at home to a team that is getting their SP from the scrap heap would be disgusting.

And I realize Wakefield doesnt throw hard, but something needs to be done about Sheffield prancing to the plate like he's the extra base hit fairy. Throw it up and in.

At least Renteria knows what to do. And Matsui is probably the worst defensive LF I have ever seen play at Fenway. I cant believe Torre still puts him out there.

At least Leiter is making such quick work of the Sox that well find out sooner if there is any reason those players involved in the rumors sat today.

Nice 1 hr. 59 min. shutout by Carpenter today - first pitcher in the NL to 14 wins.

Joe Mays received great offensive support today.

Yeah, don't get excited. Once he pitches against a team that wants to show up, he'll look just like '05 Leiter again.
