Papi starting at 1B today for the Sox.

Clement having an uncharacteristically VERY hard time finding the plate in the second....

EDIT: Clement got out of the very LONG inning unscathed.

I'm in the Chicago market so I can't see the game, but having a hard time finding the plate is not too uncharacteristic of Clement, he'll go through stretches of wildness.

4 walks already for Clement. What harm could that do?

Here's hoping for the split. Nice effort today, Matty.

I meant this year, with Wallace and Varitek keeping him focused (come to think of it, isn't Mirabelli back o' the plate today?).

Prior to today, he was averaging like 2 BB per game. But yeah, when he's had a buncha 7-9 K/0-2 BB games this year, I guess those 35 BBs had to come from somewhere, and in bunches.....

Interesting thread title given that the Yanks have 6 and it's only the 3rd.

Damn - those Sox unis are hideous.

HEY, I just bought one of those!! OK, it was on clearance at Marshalls.

But yeah, they are fugly, however: it makes a great cover-up when we go to the swim club; believe me, it REALLY stands out here in north Jersey......

Hey, have we had a good "Dale Sveum has no business in a third base coach's box" rant lately?

Oops. Beat me to it, J.

I don't know if anything's official, but it has to be in process if he's going to start tomorrow. It's a great deal for NY, though. Bringing in some youth to that pitching staff and all.

I don't understand what took until now to make it official; it was the headline on the MLB Yankees home page first thing this AM.....

That missing-by-8-inches called third strike on Damon hurt for any number of reasons.....

Freoming is just not having a good day. It's been make-up call after make-up call, often when there's nothing to make up for.

If Johnson is done, I'm completely unsatisfied. With Ortiz's very near miss and Sveum screwing the pooch, that has to be the luckiest 4 ER outing he's had in a long time.

Takatsu, Vizcaino and Marte try to blow a big lead starting with two outs and nobody on in the ninth but somehow hang on for the White Sox to win their third straight at Cleveland.

Bah, Angels up 4-0 on Santana and the Twins, and then Colon gives up a 2 run homer, a sac fly, a double, single, and a triple and the Twins have a 5-4 lead.

39 pitches in the 2nd inning alone? And that wasn't even his bad inning.

Now I have a feeling Santana will revert to his Cy Young form for the rest of the game.
