Rosenhaus strikes again!

Packers: Jackson hires Rosenhaus, threatens a holdout

by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com
Wednesday, July 6, 2005

News
Packers nose tackle Grady Jackson has hired agent Drew Rosenhaus and will probably hold out of training camp if his contract isn't renegotiated, reports the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "[Holding out] a consideration, definitely," Rosenhaus told the paper. "Obviously, he wouldn't have changed agents if things had been going well. It seems he hasn't made the progress he wants to and that's why he hired me. He reached out to me." Jackson has one season left on a two-year, $2.31 million extension he signed following the 2003 season. He recorded 36 tackles and a sack in 10 games last season. He missed five games with a dislocated kneecap and sat out the season finale in order to rest of the playoffs.

Views
If you needed another example of how Rosenhaus has no respect for signed contracts, here you go. Normally a tackle who had only 36 tackles and missed six games wouldn't be a high priority for a team, but the 340-pound Jackson is a key member of the Packers' defensive line and not having him around for training camp would be a huge loss, both figuratively and literally.

He's great for the game.

"He reached out to me" is agent code for "One of my employees called him up, made tons of promises, and stole him from another agent.

Yeah. Terry Francona was giving pregame interviews in the managers office with a whole group of reporters and Ortiz ran in, yelled it, and ran out.

I wonder how he'd feel if his clients wanted to restructure their contracts with him...

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- NFL player agent Drew Rosenhaus performed CPR to save a young boy pulled unconscious from a swimming pool at a Disney World resort hotel Tuesday.

The Chicago boy was on a trip with his family. He was transported to a hospital but was expected to be fine, said Cpl. Carlos Torres of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

"Rosenhaus brought him back," Torres said.

Rosenhaus, whose hardball negotiating tactics have made him perhaps the league's most notorious agent, said he was at the Grand Floridian to visit clients and ran to help when he heard screaming after the boy was pulled from the pool.

"I dropped my phone, which is pretty rare," joked Rosenhaus, who worked as a lifeguard as a youngster. "I was thrilled to help the boy. It was nice to be a good guy for once."

The fact that you like this guy on account of hating the packers is just plain ignorant. It's so clear that this guy is a cancer to any sport...

He also saved a young kid who was drowning.

Lance Armstrong is considered to be heroic because he beat cancer and went on to win a bunch of bicycle races.

Drew Rosenhaus saves lives and is a cancer?

Yeah because you guys all think that being able to ride a bike is much more heroic than saving a kid's life.

What does Lance Armstrong have to do with any of this?

And him saving a child's life has nothing to do with his effect on the NFL. If he were my agent i would love him, but as a fan I can't imagine why anyone would like him. Being a cancer to a sport has nothing to do with saving a kid. Sounds like you're just arguing for the sake of arguing to me.

The story left out the fact that after Rosenhaus saved the kid, the kid refused to go home until his parents raised his allowance to $50 a week.

So he does have some redeeming qualities after all!

Congrats to him for being a hero; perhaps it will open his eyes to all the bullshit he causes.
