Who will win 2012 Summer Olympics?
Well?
Man, I can't imagine the chaos that would become of NYC if they were to win. Hotel rates are already at sky high prices, this would just push them well beyond that.
It would be a shock if it's not Paris. If for some reason it's not Paris, it'll be London. NYC probably has little or no shot (which seems to be fine with most people i've talked to who live there).
I go with Paris too.
Gay Paris
Putin shall buy the Olympics w/ Kraft's ring.
Paris seems to be the only city of the five where the residents actually want the games.
When is it announced?
I'd prefer New York only because it'd mean more live events, but Paris will probably win.

I say Paris |
Paris. If not Paris, then London, but I think it'll be Paris.
After Atlanta and SLC, I think IOC wants the Olympics out of North America -- we bring the biggest contingency and (likewise) we bring the largest fanbase when it's in the US.
Current Odds
Paris: 2-9 London: 7-2 Madrid: 12-1 NY: 25-1 Moscow: 50-1 The NY odds dropped considerably after they coudn't get approval to get the stadium built in Manhattan and had to present their plan B. |
Which stadium? The new Jets or Yankees?
The stadium the Jets were supposed to use. The state of NY refused to give the $300,000 subsidy required to build the 78,000 seat Manhattan stadium.
Paris.
I thought the new NY stadium proposal is one for the Olympics and Mets in Queens.
I would assume that Yankee Stadium (either a new one or the existing one) is part of the bid - as the baseball venue. |

I'm more concerned with who's gonna win the 2012 Special Olympics.

I would say Paris, and I just pray to God its not NYC. Its crazy enough around here now, no need to make it anymore. But they are saying that if NYC doesnt get it for 2012, they will be a good bet for 2016.

Paris or London would be nice, but I'm leaning towards NYC.
