way to make it fan-friendly for us east-coasters. Then again, if I was on the west coast, i'd be pissed about it starting at 6.

Crap. Can I pick against the Pistons again? Urg. I think the Spurs have what it takes to dethrone the champs, but...

Position by position:

Sheed vs. Duncan - Advantage Spurs. Duncan is the best player in the league, but Wallace is an all-star as well so...

Ben Wallace vs. Nazr - Advantage Pistons. This will be a break out series for Wallace who is no longer 'shaq'led (haha) by Shaq. He can roam and make hustle plays!

Bowen vs. Prince - Advantage Push. Both great defensively, both can hit threes.

Hamilton vs. Ginobli - Advantage Push. Again, each has strengths. I give Rip the edge defensively but Ginobli is so creative on the break.

Billips vs. Parker - Advantage Push. I give Billups the experience, poise and clutch shots, bur Parkers penetration is so damn good.

SA bench vs. Det Bench - Advantage Spurs.

Coaching - Advantage Pistons. Hall of fame coach wins wherever he goes.

So in the end, can it be a tie? Another 7 game series and I SUPPOSE the Pistons find a way to win again...

Popovich=2 rings
Brown=1 ring

You used the ring argument in Hamilton vs Wade, so why not here?

I can say right now...

...the NBA and ABC are NOT pleased that the Pistons and the Spurs are in the NBA Finals. I can see games where the final score will be 76-74, and gawd will that turn off viewers in no time flat! And we might just see that pattern last through seven games, given how evenly-matched the Pistons and Spurs are.

Who gives a flying fuck what the NBA or ABC thinks? Do you work for them? Do you get money if they get money?

What matters is that the two best teams are facing each other. Fuck ratings.

Well, a lot of people do. ABC could lose a fortune over a low-rated NBA Finals, especially when ABC will be forced to do a lot of "make good" advertising rates for the next NBA season to compensate advertisers.

Why do you care for ABC? ABC loses a big fortune, big fucking doo.

I bet you're one of those Best Buy employees who won't price match because you "might lose money".

Does that mean you're one of those customers that boycott Best Buy because they wouldn't accept a $40 coupon for a purchase you made the week before?

Nah, it'd buy the same item with the $40 coupon and then use my receipt for the old team and return the unopened new item.

Um...this may be obvious, but the key match-up here is Duncan vs Rasheed. I have a feeling they would put Ben Wallace on Duncan occassionaly, but Rasheed guards Duncan pretty well, and depending on how Duncan is feeling, Rasheed could bang and post him up all day, really making his offense suffer.

If Duncan plays extraordinarily well, I don't see how the Pistons would beat the Spurs in this series, but if Duncan plays like he has these playoffs, then I think the Pistons take it.

I wanted to see Miami/Spurs, but I guess Detroit will do. I agree, the games won't be as fascinating with the defense vs defense, but if you truly love the sport, then it shouldn't matter because it's all about the best team winning.

However, should the Spurs continue their trend of increasing their offensive style and strategy, then there might be more to this series than would have been predicted at the beginning of the season. The series versus the Suns kind of woke the Spurs up a little bit.

Spurs in 6 (cause I want them to win it at home )

Same here.

I am just glad shaq isn't in the finals. I think if detroit can controll the spurs backcourt, then they will take it. Duncan will get his points and rebounds, but if ginobli and parker go off too, the spurs will win.

I am so freaking sick of hearing how this is a terrible series and basketball fans don't want to see it.

This is the 2 best teams in the league (I actually picked this final before the season ) playing for the title. What could be better? I like basketball. I like fast break basketball. I also like defensive basketball. Defense wins championships. Could the NBA have expected anything else?

I'm looking forward to a great series.

Pistons in 7.

Yeah, nothing's more entertaining than a grind-em-out series with Duncan, Ben Wallace, Bruce Bowen, etc. shooting free throws. God I'm stoked.

I want the Pistons to win, if only because Ginobili has taken a play out of the Derek Fisher handbook and turned into a little flopping bitch.

Detroit won't put up with Bowen's dirty play either. As soon as they knock Parker, Bowen, and Ginobili on their ass a few times, San Antonio's game will change.
