Nice try

Between Vin on the TV, the Angels message board, and the game online, there is no way they could have announced something like that without me knowing about it.

Just expecting the worst case scenario so if it doesn't come true, it'll be good news.

What'll happen is he'll miss a few games, I'm sure. Probably the rest of the series with the Dodgers.

Great now Washburn left, apparently he's injured as well. That means Vlad, Anderson, and now Washburn are hurt.

I can't believe I'm typing this but Ted Lilly pitched a good game and got the win.

Plus I was bitching about Vernon Wells not hitting and he goes out and gets two homers tonight.

Seattle has been BEATENED (do you hear me?) up pretty good lately... OAK and SEA each split the 10 game winning streak for the Yankees. BOS is the only team this month that SEA has BEATENED (let me hear it!) in a series this month.

I'm reading several conflicting reports about FOX's Saturday baseball broadcast and whether or not they will be in HD. Please, oh please, don't let them drop the ball on this one.

Im up here in minnesota this weekend for a wedding
we out to a bar after the rehearsal dinner lastnight.. and they had the Twins game on all the screens, showing on FOX sports north.. One thing that i thought was REALLY odd.... not ONCE during the entire airing of the game, did they give ANY score updates from any of the other games
what the hell is up with that?

I watch games on FOX sport south regularly.. and Im pretty sure they give regular score updates

According to people at the AVS Forum, it's not going to be. However, people are swearing on bibles that they are advertising it in HD. The way Fox is w/ HD sports adoption, I can't imagine it won't be.

Well, the pre-game is in widescreen. Not sure if it's 480p or 1080i though.

And I believe we will be getting the Chicago series here, so that will make my wife happy.

Talking about the Braves? It's the first time since April of 2002.

[snip]Miller left after Estrada's one-out double in the seventh. Mike Timlin retired all five batters he faced and hasn't allowed a run in his last 15 outings. But in the ninth, Foulke allowed a double to Chipper Jones, a run-scoring triple to Andruw Jones and an RBI single to Estrada. Foulke then got Franco to ground into a game-ending double play that extended Atlanta's losing streak to four games for the first time since April 2002.[/snip]

Never going to happen. FOX has the rights to Saturday afternoon baseball just as ESPN does for Sunday night. Sucks, I do agree. But it's going going to change.

480i widescreen (upconverted to 720p by the network) here w/ 5.1 audio for the Chicago game. I guess it's better than standard 4:3.

It's amazing how spoiled one gets w/ HD after a few months.
