I'll go with the powerhouse that is AC Milan. I'm a big Shevchenko fan, although seeing Liverpool win would be a great story

I predict an unbelieveably exciting 0-0 tie in the final.

AC Milan 2-1

I'm not a supporter of either club, but at least it's better than Real Madrid-Man Utd or some shit like that.

Here's how I see the game going.

Liverpool start off like they did against Juve, although it takes them a little bit to really get it going. Finally, in the 32nd minute, Steven Gerrard takes the ball from Steve Finnan at the corner of the penalty box and puts a screamer into the top corner of the net, 1-0 Liverpool.

Milan come storming back after the break, and get a goal through Svechenko in the 61st minute to tie it at one. Both teams trade a few chances after that, and it looks like we might be headed to extra time until...

...in the 88th minute, Jamie Carragher takes a rebound off a Djibril Cisse shot and puts it past the flailing keeper. Liverpool 2-1, and that's the way it ends.

Also, Liverpool defend their title next year, Everton lose to an Albanian club in the 3rd qualifying round and get relegated from the Prem, and ManU are forced to sell Wayne Rooney to Watford for £100,000 to pay off debts.

Interesting note:

The winners of the European Cup generally do not get to keep the cup. They're allowed to make replicas, but the replicas must be 10% smaller than the real thing.

However, when a team wins their 5th, they get to keep the cup they won for their 5th. Only two teams have won 5 -- AC Milan and Real Madrid. Liverpool have won 4. The current cup has been in use since the 1995 Champions League. So if Liverpool win here, they get to keep it. And it'll look so beautiful.

I hadn't realized Milan won that many. I was thinking it was only 4 (1963, 1989, 1990, and 1994), but they also won in 1969 and 2003.

Is it official that if Liverpool win the Cup, they won't be able to defend it next year because of their current standings in the Premiership?

No. There are people in UEFA (including the President) who are pushing tl allow Liverpool in next year as holders even though they finished 5th in the EPL. But they're not going to decide officially until they see they need to (i.e. if Liverpool win)

I'm not sure about that...

...I do, however, have preliminary plans to go on vaca to the UK sometime in January or February... going to try and plan it around a weekend Liverpool would be playing at Anfield to try and go to a game there.

A little off-topic . . . but. . .

Does anybody know whether Fox Soccer Channel will televise Saturday's FA Cup final, or will it be on Pay-per-view? I tried opening the tv schedule on the Fox website, but I can't open PDF's at work. Thanks in advance.

A resource worth checking daily is Soccer on US TV. It provides programming information for seemingly every soccer broadcast on the North American continent, daily.
