Go Cardinals!!!!

I can only bring myself to root for them since they are playing the Dodgers. A Dodger loss and Dbacks win today = tie for first place!

Associated Press

ST. LOUIS -- Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday after spraining his left shoulder earlier this week in a collision with Los Angeles' Hee-Seop Choi.

Rolen was injured during St. Louis' 9-8 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday. With one out in the fifth inning, Rolen hit a comebacker to Dodgers starter Scott Erickson. The pitcher's throw to first pulled Choi into foul territory, where he collided with Rolen.

The Cardinals recalled third baseman Scott Seabol to take Rolen's roster spot. Seabol was hitting .325 with eight home runs and 24 RBIs at Triple-A Memphis.

John Mabry replaced Rolen at third base on Wednesday in the third game of a four-game series against the Dodgers. Mabry went 3-for-5, scored twice and made a couple of nice defensive plays in the Cardinals' 9-3 victory.

Rolen, a six-time Gold Glove winner, is batting .257 with five homers and 20 RBIs. Mabry, who bats left-handed, and the right-handed Seabol could platoon in his absence.

Team physician Dr. George Paletta said Rolen's injury is unrelated to the separated left shoulder that sidelined the all-star third baseman for most of the 2002 playoffs. After joining the Cardinals in a trade with Philadelphia near the trading deadline, he was injured in a basepath collision with the asshat Alex Cintron of the Diamondbacks during the division series and missed the NL championship series.

Also, the Cardinals also put off until Friday activating closer Jason Isringhausen from the 15-day disabled list. Isringhausen could have returned to the roster from a right abdominal strain, but manager Tony La Russa wanted him to face hitters in a simulated setting first.

Yeah, that's why they won the NL West last year.

Typical AZ fan getting cocky after winning just one championship!

Go back and look at each year in the past 5-7 years that the Dodgers had a lead in the NL West late in the season and get back to me.

I'm not cocky, I just speak the truth.

I was joking about the cocky thing. See the Red Sox-Yankees fan thing a few threads back.

Anyways...if a team just won the division last year, there is no "typical" collapse. There is no way the DBacks will beat the Dodgers for the division this year and you can't "collapse" 1/4 into a season. If any team in the West has a chance, it's SD and they are missing a few components as of right now.

I'm going to the White Sox game on 5/17. I haven't heard too much about US Cellular Field. Any comments or things I should know ahead of time?
