I was all geared up to catch the Cubbies when they were here in Phoenix at the start of the season, but the wifey had to go and have a baby. I knew she wasn't a big sports fan when I married her, but it's getting ridiculous with the levels she'll stoop to to keep me from getting my fix!

Have fun at the game! Hopefully Prior will rebound from his last start!

Okay, today is the day the Yanks start their turnaround. Yeah right. They only need 7 straight wins to get to .500.

What makes it worse other than how bad they are right now is that you know 99.5% of baseball fans are really getting off on seeing the most successful franchise in sports history struggle.

Nope, it didn't work. I thought saying the words "the most successful franchise in sports history" would make be feel better but it didn't.

Calling them "the biggest chokers in sports history" always puts a smile on my face. $230 million for a last place team. Bwahahahahaha!!

Same here (Chi), have a blast. Bought 2 tickets ($50 a ticket) for Sunday 8th row behind the Phillies on deck. There are actually (or were) a lot of great pairs for Sunday available. And awesome singles. Not sure about now.

According to Kevin Brown, all he needed Tuesday night was two extra
infielders and everything would have been fine.

Speaking for the first time about giving up eight runs and 13 hits in an
11-4 loss to the Devil Rays, Brown said he was a victim of the rules that
say a team can only have nine players on the field at one time.

"A couple of balls hit to somebody and the game is a completely different
game," said Brown, who is 0-4 with an 8.25 ERA. "That's the way the game
is."

Like every pitcher, Brown is victimized by grounders that get through the
infield. But that doesn't explain why he has given up 41 hits in 24 innings.
He is slated to start Sunday against the A's. Since Brown's 40-year-old body
is never perfect, he was asked how he felt physically.

"As fine as I can expect," was his reply.

Whats even better is that they've traded away most of their minor league prospects for this collection of old fucks.

I'm sure 99.99999999 % of the pitchers say that Genius (meaning KB). The Yankees are a complete
mess right now. Their only saving grace (Torre - your true colors are showing) is that the Kentucky Derby is this weekend.

Arod, missing throws, dropping pop-ups and can't hit in the clutch.
Posada looks worse that Piazza throwing runners out.
Womack in LF?
New 2b can't throw to or cover 2b on a steal.
Giambi still gets into the lineup?
Showcasing minor leauge pitchers...backfired.

Still waiting for RJ to totally blowup...and it will happen sooner than I thought .

By that logic, the Houston Comets (4-of-8, 50%) are the most successful.

I don't really give a shit enough about this argument, I'm just being a pain for the hell of it.

I don't care if the yankees are or are not the most successful franchise in sports history. All I care about is that they're a bunch of douchebags right now.

Let's see....who could have helped the Yankees this year who they thought weren't good enough for them (traded or let go via FA)...

Yhency Brazoban
Jeff Weaver
Andy Pettite
Javier Vasquez
Jon Lieber
Al Lieter
Bob Wickman
Mike Lowell
Alfonso Soriano
Nick Johnson
Brad Ausmus
Cristian Guzman
Carl Everett
Rondell White
Ted Lilly

Instead, they have a bunch of overpaid geezers. Good job Cashman and Steinbrenner!

Well I didnít hear too many Yankee fans complain when they signed a lot of these guys...The Yankees just donít seem to get the fact that signing high priced talent doesnít take into consideration team chemistry, I just hope Epstein has figured out the little nugget of truth.

I think if the Yankees still had Brazoban, him and Rivera would be a deadly set-up - closer combo, almost as good as Brazoban-Gagne.

An infield of Nick Johnson, Soriano, Jeter, and Lowell is much better than what they put out now, even with the cursed ARod.
