The Champions League Semi-Finals.

So we have 1 down and one to go.

PSV were beaten 2-0 by AC Milan yesterady although PSV had terrible luck
in front of goal.

I grew up watching Liverpool conquer Europe so it'd be nice to see them reach the final but Chelsea would probably be better to go on and pick up the trophy.

For those that don't know the specifics, today's match is Chelsea v. Liverpool (or Liverpool v. Chelsea for some). It's at 2:30 Eastern, on ESPN2 (DirecTV channel 209 ).

Hopefully the fans will leave their flares at home.

Please, please, please beat the second-suckiest team in blue in the League (next to Everton, natch) and their Russian Mob boss owner.I'm absolutely begging Liverpool...

Predictions:

Chelsea v. Liverpool 27.4.05: Chelsea (Robben 21) 1-1 Liverpool (Baros 68)
Liverpool v. Chelsea 3.5.05: Liverpool (Alonso 25, Riise 53) 2-1 Chelsea (Drogba 77)

More than anything, I just dislike teams winning more than one trophy in a year (unless it's my team - go DC!)

Come on you Reds!

I missed the first minute to get a "butty", why all the empty seats?

typical of games, its amazing to see the empty seats with 5/10 mins to go, and bang kick off and its jammed. I've never seen anything like it.

Man, that's pretty crazy. I catch the weekly Premiereship game on my local Fox channel, and have never noticed it. I'm guessing everyone is in a local pub in the area up until the last second.

(Moved from above post)
On that Amstel Light promo, what was that glass enclosure in the stadium that looked like a covered bus-stop?

To make sure I understand the rule, a 0-0 tie today, and a 1-1 tie in 6 days favors Chelsea on the away goal rule?

That's pretty common over here, I don't turn up at my seat until 5 minutes before kick off.

To be expected towards the end of the season but that pitch is pretty crap with the players slipping up all over the place.

So, in the second leg....

1. Scouse win - Liverpool advances
2. Scouse loss - Chelski advances
3. Tied match, each team with score of one or more - Chelski advances on away goal rule
4. Tied match, 0-0 - ?????

So, Liverpool's hope is to win this evening's match (well, afternoon in the US, 2:30 ET, 6:30 GMT) outright, or win in extra time if the match ends 0-0.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea will feel the pressure on Tuesday when the Londoners attempt to book a place in the Champions League final. Carragher says his side can go into the semi-final second leg at Anfield in a relaxed mood because the newly-crowned Premier League champions have most to lose. The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw. 'All the pressure is on Chelsea,' he said on Monday. 'They have spent a lot of money and expect to succeed in this competition.

Gerrard claims his underdog side can confound the experts and reach the Istanbul final on May 25.

Gerrard said: 'This second leg is without doubt the biggest game of my life and I am sure it's the same for every other player here.

'At the beginning of the tournament we were underdogs and everyone expected us to go out in the first round, so the fact that we are now so close to the final goes to show just how well the manager and all the boys have done.

'I think it has surprised everyone, but we are not in it just to make the numbers up. We are in it to win it so we are going to keep fighting.

'Captaining Liverpool in the final would be the biggest day of my life, as simple as that.'

Gerrard told official club website www.liverpoolfc.tv: 'Everyone here knows the gap between ourselves and Chelsea, and also Arsenal and Manchester United come to mention it, is not as great as people make out.

'It's just the inconsistency in the league that we have to sort out.

'And I don't think people have given us the credit we deserve after the first leg.

'We would have taken that result at Chelsea before the game and if someone had offered us this scenario before the start of the season - where we only had to beat Chelsea at home to reach the European Cup final--then we would have snatched their hands off. It's a great opportunity.'

Yup Liverpool out for the win, not sure how I feel at the minute, chelsea won the league at the weekend, so hoping they are off guard a little.

I'll be nervous as fuck while watching and am torn between watching at home or at the mad dog.
