Help ME! Argg...

Ok, question for you guys?

So I have been reading into the NFL draft really closely now for about 2 months. Since the Vikings picked up the 7th pick. Die hard deep into it. Been pumped all last couple weeks that it was coming up. Following me... Well YESTERDAY, Monday... My damn Fiance tells me that she needs me to come to a wedding on Saturday. So I argue for like 10 minutes, she is not budging. I am really kind of annoyed....... What do I do, fake sick, bring headphones and a radio, break up(just kidding).

just kind of needed to vent somewhere...

I went to a wedding that was on the Saturday afternoon of the '99 NFL Draft - in Pittsburgh, a NFL hotbed no less. A bunch of kept going over to the adjoining bar every 10 minutes (reception was in a banquet room of a restaurant) to see the picks.

who doesn't know about a wedding weeks in advance? Has she said that she mentioned this to you already a while back but that you forgot? When did she get the invitation. This is BS because it is last minute. Either you put your foot down or you work out some kind of deal i.e. trade down and attend only the reception for future considerations

How good are your photoshop skills? If the bride got some photos of the groom with a prostitute, the wedding will probably be called off.

What time is the wedding at? There's also the possibility that the Vikes could make this trade with the Dolphins (involving both their first rounders) and have their first round picking done by 11:30 at the latest (central time). Then they wouldn't come up in the second round til about 6-7 PM Central, and by then the wedding might be over.

I thought this was about the Timberwolves, but it's too late for their season.

The wedding is such short notice, cause it is a sister that has not been part of the family to much. She just showed up one day and invited the astranged(sp?) family ie my fiance. The wedding is at 11:00 CT time, RIGHT when the draft starts..

Also, I really hope that Dolphins deal doesn't go down..

Is the NFL draft really that important? I love football, but I couldn't watch the draft for more then 5-10 minutes.

It is. And I've watched every single minute of the NFL draft for the past decade.

Of course, that may be proof of insanity on my part.

1st round is pretty good TV. I can't watch anymore than that. Usually, my eyes aren't glued to it either - I'll be doing something else at the same time: reading, online poker, watching something else with the draft on the split screen.

I guess I won't have to worry about watching the 1st round next year.

I would definitely fake sick...Start the sniffles on Thursday, have a fever by Friday afternoon. If you can force yourself to puke, I would throw that in there as well.
