I loved Oscar's sound effect of what the hit made him do.

Um on HBO..I must have totally missed that.

Also, the judges seemed to have it closer than I did by a couple of rounds.

TRINIDAD IS THE NEXT KO VICTIM!

It sure is a bad time to be a boxing superstar of the 90's!

sad sad day. The end of an era.

Roy Jones Jr used to be unhittable but he was slower than crap tonight. He was a sitting duck out there. He had his moments but they were few and far between.

Unbelievable. Sad day indeed. Anybody see the post fight interview? Did he say he's retiring for good? Man, I still can't believe how his career has changed

IIRC he wasn't interviewed after the fight, he was with the ring-side medical staff. They did interview on of his trainer Alton Merkerson and when asked about if Jones would retire he said it was something that he and Jones would have to talk about. I'd be suprised to see him get back into the ring and risking another defeat. Sad to see him go, but I'm happy I had a chance to watch his entire career.

edit: added his trainer's name.

Huh...I didn't even think about that. Looking back at the release date in NA, it came out a few weeks prior to the Tarver loss.

I watched up to the 6th round. Not too exciting. But it never looked like he had the power to put Roy out. I hope he retires. He has the money and has maintained himself in a sport that destroys fighters. He looked way too slow and getting hit by this guy was ridiculous.

The KO punch itself didn't look like it did much damage (although I think he was clearly going down regardless). The canvas on the other hand fucked him up royally.

yeah, his head hit the floor pretty hard. I think that he would've gotten up if not for that. But he probably would've gotten knocked down again.
