well.. lastnight the braves managed to snatch defeat from the hands of victory.. but bringing in the bullpen and giving up 9 runs in the final 2 innings.. to ruin wright's great pitching job and give up the 3-1 lead

START THE DAMN GAMES ALREADY!!!!

3,763 in Montreal.

Its up to Derek Lowe to avoid a sweep by the Rockies. Hopefully, he continues to pitch well. I wonder if Colorado will go after him in the offseason. Since he gets so many gound balls, I think it would be a good fit.

Wow.... I just don't even know what to say about this. Which D-Lowe will show up? The good one or the bad one?

Tonight, the Cardinals have a chance to go over .500 at home for the first time this season.

I still don't know why MLB continues to keep that waste of space afloat.

If the Sox can't manage a win today, all is not lost. Ramiro Mendoza should be back soon.

Hopefully he can hold off until at least tomorrow night. That way I'll have a chance at seeing #500 in person.

There was a trade today.

In an effort to inject some juice into their lineup, the Mets have obtained outfielder Richard Hidalgo from the Astros in exchange for right-handed reliever David Weathers, the New York Daily News reported on its Web site Thursday.

Hidalgo, 28, hit 44 homers and drove in 122 runs as recently as 2000, but has fallen off since and is now a part-time player with a .256 average, four homers and 30 RBI in 199 at-bats.

Weathers, 34, has appeared in 32 games and is 5-3 record with a 4.28 ERA, but like Hidalgo had figured less and less lately in his team's plans.

The Astros will add $4 million to the deal to jettison Hidalgo, who is scheduled to make $12 million this season and $15 million in 2005, although the Mets seem certain to buy out that final year for $2 million.Weathers is making nearly $4 this year, the final season of his contract.

Nice lineup for the Sox today. Except for Derek Lowe being in there.
