At least Boston didnt take the worst beating tonight. Did anyone see how many empty seats there were at Fenway in the 9th?

Not me. A 10 run loss means you got the shit beat out of you.

This is A topic worthy of its own thread, I think.

to me.. you can laugh off a 10 run loss, and realize its a 162 game season and that you can lost 40+% of your games and still win it all

if its a 1 run loss.. there were probably some minor mistakes that kept you from winning

You can laugh off a 1 run loss, too.

And in a 10 run loss, you either made a ton of mistakes or a team completely kicked your ass. Sitting there for 2 hours knowing you arent good enough tonight is pretty shitty.

Well, having to choose between a 1 run loss and a 10 run loss, I'll take winning. Otherwise, I have to agree with twikoff. I agonize over a 1 run loss much more, and I'm sure the teams do as well.

But they both suck major hiney.

If you agonize more over a 1 run loss than a 10 run loss, you're going to have to deal with alot of 10 run losses.

1 run loss: Gee, we almost won.

10 run loss: Gee, we ****in sucked.

Yes, but every once in a while a pitcher is bound to have a horrible outing.

Look at this way. What if the Red Sox were up 5-4 on the Yankees and then the Yanks hit a 2 run homer to win the game? Don't you think losing a game by ONE freaking run is a lot worse? I do.

Well, a walkoff HR would be worse. But an average 5-4 loss against the Yankees would be better than a 14-4 game.

I wonder what the Red Sox would think? Maybe there will be some quotes in the paper tomorrow.

Ouch. At least Texas got shut out. If they scored 8 runs, they would probably feel real bad.

Exactly To score 8 runs and not win would suck.
