Nomar News!

Nomar Garciaparra's agent said that he expects Nomar to sign with the Red Sox.

"He wants to stay here, and I personally would like to see him stay here,'' Tellem said. You can see the outpouring here. Everyone wants him to stay here, and I know both sides would like him to stay, and I believe in the end that's what will happen.''

Nomar is expected to work out with the team today, taking BP and fielding ground balls.

Nomar hosted a charity event last night called the Nomar Bowl, the 5th annual event.

Schilling/Hudson should be a good game, but its on shitty ESPN 2. Hopefully, it'll still be on NESN.

Hopefully the Mets can pick up a game on the Phils and be above .500 for the first time in what seems like ages.

No kidding. Didn't is just seem like yesterday when we were bickering back and forth in the MLB threads? It's amazing what mediocrity can do!

Tell us about it when you get back. Unless you're lying. Just like somebody else who claims to have gone, but just bought a Sox hat in the hotel giftshop.

El Scorcho, where are the Fenway pics??

News and Notes

* Besieged by injury problems, Boston Red Sox pitcher Byung Hyun Kim has been granted permission to fly home to South Korea for a second opinion. Speaking through an interpreter, Kim's South Korean specialist, Dr. Min Ho, told reporters, "We'll have to look at his shoulder, back, and hip and try to pinpoint any mechanical...Aw, who am I kidding? He just sucks."

* After slumping Dodgers 1B Shawn Green was benched by manager Jim Tracy, he talked his way back into the line-up on Sunday. Following the success of the conversation, Green will next attempt to talk his batting average up to .250, pointing out that it's the only chance he has of getting there anytime soon.

* Todd Helton is nursing a sore back, and despite attempts to return to the line-up, may be facing the DL for the first time in his major league career. "I won't lie to you. I'm disappointed in him," said Helton's teammate Larry Walker, in surprisingly candid remarks. "In this league, you play through pain. He needs to stop complaining and go help this team."

* Among the teams said to be interested in OF Raul Mondesi are the Red Sox, the Dodgers, the Angels, the Mariners, the Cardinals, and the angry guys with guns outside of his Dominican Republic home.

* Kansas City OF Aaron Guiel is scheduled to hit off of a tee today, taking another step in his recovery from laser eye surgery. Guiel thought he had suffered a setback Monday night until teammate Joe Randa assured him that the post-makeover women on Fox's hit show "The Swan" really do look like transvestites.

Come on Braves, let's get back to .500! Good to know they still have 18 games left with the Expos.
