LOL - Lackey vs. Lieber - too bad I have to friggen work today - I want to watch the game! See if the Angels can take 2 of 3 from the Yankees, who, coming into the series were arguably the second hottest team in baseball (behind the angels).

Taking 2 of 3 will be nice if they can get it done. Though they _should_ have won that first game...too many errors and not putting the game away when they had the opportunity - but a great first game even though they lost, a great pounding in the second game...wish I could watch the third.

Hopefully Webby can have a great outing so we can take 3-4 from the Mets. Bring on the Expos!

so I get a call today from some group pimpin Red Hat Linux & Sun Servers..
considering I administer both with my job.. its a pretty good fit
they offered to let me come in for a demo of some new technology in their suite at turner field before the game on the 21st..
the demo starts at 6:15, the game starts at 7:30
their suite is up in the lexus level.. Ive watched a few games from suites up there.. and it kicks ass.. and I really was looking forward to the red hat/sun demo as well
I even had them toss in another ticket, so corrie could go with me
but then i find out corrie has a class that night (going back for her mba, and its a class that meets all weekend for 2 weekends and then its done.. so you cant really skip a session)..
well, no big deal.. i could easily find someone else to go with me..
but then i find out thats also the night of my brothers high school graduation... no way i can get out of going to that..
so looks like Im going to miss both the game and the demo.. not to mention the kickass suite with a private bathroom and all the food and drink you can handle
Bad New: my brothers graduation is in fact friday the 21st.. so I wont be able to go to the game.. although they are still sending my gift (it better be a good one).. and 2 tickets.. so Ill get to pass those tickets off to someone and make a new friend

Good News: even though I wont get to go friday. Corrie was offered tickets to the MCI suite on the Lexus level for a braves game on Tuesday the 18th.. so we'll be going to that one instead.. funny how these things tend to have a way of working out.. and this way, i dont even have to plan on getting there an hour early for the demo.

OK, I'll try this again:

Oliver Perez making his first start at Coors Field. As a fantasy manager, would you start him? I'm up 3-1 on wins, and my ERA and WHIP are pretty low so far this week.

I'd be hesitant to start anyone at Coors that isn't a lowball or sinkerball pitcher.

stupid injuries
they werent so bad back when the team was spending enough money to have better players on the bench.. but it make it tough when the starting lineup hasnt been together since the first week of the season.. and at most times, half the starters are out

i blame drew!!!

Sanders blasts his ninth home run of the year on a first-pitch fastball up and in - Cards lead 2-1!!!

His first homer and RBI's since he hit his eighth of of theyear on April 30. Maybe this will help him break out of his damn slump.

**** you, Drew. If you keep running that much, you might stub your pinky toe.

Jeff Suppan is just another version of Brett Tomko. He either pitches really well or he gives up a shit-load of home runs.

They just said that the Braves have lost five straight series - for the first time since '88.

yep
and 6 of their last 7 games
not really use to this
but each year it seemed the squeezed a little more to see what the most they could do with the least..
and this year its really biting them due to all the injuries

but wont stop me from watching every game

It royally sucks the Braves are in this kind of slump, but you gotta admit that's a pretty amazing run.

Top of the fifth, one out and the Braves are up 4-2. And the ground crew is bringing out the tarp.
