I can't believe it's not gonna be shown on a regular cable channel, even if it's tape delayed. I think that's what happened four years ago with the Belgium/Netherlands tournament.
Maybe Fox Sports World/Espanol will make a last minute deal.

I have my doubts of Germany even surviving the group stage, given their recent 'form'. If Henry stays hot and Barthez doesn't get suspended for urinating on the pitch, France should do well.

I'll be rooting for the Czech's with Baros up front.
That is a great group Germany, holland and the Czech republic.
If England go far i don't know if I'll be able to deal with the press.

England have a chance. But they have a ton of injury problems on that squad. Plus Rio being out for ... well... being a complete moron.
I at least like England coming out of that group. France isn't nearly the team they were in winning WC 1998 and Euro 2000.

Are the Danes the worst team in their group? Or is Sweden? Italy is usually a powerhouse and Bulgaria has its moment. Do the Danes have a chance of advancing?
My knowledge of the international scene has gone to shit over the last several years - so please, help me out. thanks

Fox Sports World will be showing 5 games live, because UEFA required Setanta to offer 5 games live via a non-pay-per-view outlet. The following 5 games will air live on Fox Sports World US and Fox Sports en Espanol US:
Denmark-Italy
Croatia-France
Italy-Sweden
Switzerland-France
Denmark-Sweden
All 4 quarterfinals and both semifinals will be aired via 5 day delay. The final will be aired via 3 day delay.
It's better than nothing. We get to see some pretty good matchups.

If it happens or not, I will be happy as hell to see some real soccer in the Pittsburgh, let alone the US, this July 29th. I'm 13 rows off the field at about the 35 yard line at Heinz Field. It's going to be beautiful...

All those rumours from Chelsea all come from Journalist Harry Harris, who used to write for the mirror and now writes for the express.
And what else is mr harris doing for money, oh that's right he's ghost writing Abramovich's book on his 1st year in the premier league.
Hence the stories of chelsea buying beckham and to some extent steven gerrard.

anybody in West LA?
I'm thinking about ordering it. I live close to West LA (zip code 90034). So far, I've only got one other person interested. I'd be charging a small cover (maybe around $5/person), just to recoup the cost. I have no interest in making a profit whatsoever.
My setup: 1 bedroom apt. 42" Rear projection TV. TiVo. Full surround sound system.
I work M-F, around 10am-4pm .. but my hours are somewhat flexible.
If people are looking for a good pub to watch the games and don't mind paying the $20 cover, I highly recommend the Cock N' Bull in Venice. 2947 lincoln blvd. 310-399-9696. England games are especially festive there.
If anyone knows of someone ordering the games, with a small cover charge, please let me know. Otherwise, email me at [email protected] if you're interested.
