Even though the score was close for all of the 1st half, it was a blowout in the makings. A snoozer (literally for some).

As many have said, this is probably the "NBA Finals" right here. And no doubt that this series will be the toughest for the Lakers, especially since the Spurs have home court advantage.

Early prediction:

Lakers playing like they did against Houston:

Spurs sweep 4-0

Lakers playing like they are capable of:

Lakers win series 4-1

No doubt it will be a hard series for the Lakers. It will be a tough series for both teams imo. Hopefully last nights game will give them a big confidence boost they so need. I expect it to go at least 6 or 7. Should be awesome

I predict a 6 game series that really could go either way. For the Lakers, i think this is the series that Payton has to come out and make a statement. We've heard reports of him being unhappy in the system, not coming back next year, and Phil saying he's lost a step on defense. Gary needs to go out and smother Tony Parker and not be relegated to 4th quarter bench duty again. Duncan is going to get his no matter what. If Payton/Fisher can control Parker and Shaq stays out of foul trouble, the Lakers should have this in 6. If Parker runs wild and guys like Horry and Hedo play solid, i think the Spurs will take it.

I agree that it's going to be a great series. This is traditionally the time when the Spurs role players will step up. I can definitely see Ginobili catching fire in this series. Hopefully, the Spurs can maintain their momentum and play with a lot of intensity.

Looking forward to Sunday.

I can live with the winner of this series being champs but I do hope it's the Lakers.

I like the thought of the Spurs/Lakers sharing the last 6 Years' Trophies.

The Spurs are the kind of team I can really respect.
Rockets too for that matter. Steve F. backed off that smug
look thing and that should teach other NBA teams a thing
or two (the Lakers included).

Why do the spurs get homecourt if we finished 2nd in the west?

Yeah, I had mentioned in the NBA thread that the Lakers thread had disappeared a couple of weeks ago.

This rumour seems too good to be true. I wonder who the Lakers would have to give up to get Garnett. I guess everyone but Kobe is touchable.

How on earth could they get KG without giving up Kobe?

I don't think it's likely, but it would have to be a 3-team trade where the Wolves trade KG and Wally and get back Mihm, Odom, George, Vlade's expiring contract, draft picks and another player from another team.

And in what bizarro world would the T-Wolves accept that trade?

I can't believe anyone's taking this seriously.

I didn't say it was that realistic, but there are some considerations:

-Wally has an albatross contract, so the Wolves would force to include him in any trade with KG.

-KG has a no-trade clause, which means he has to accept a trade. He can say he would only go to a team like the Lakers or Pacers or Hawks and if the Wolves want to do him a favor for carrying them on his back all these years, they would find a way to make a trade to his desired team work.

Lakers will never get KG. After all, he's not even in my top 5.

My brother and I went to Staples last monday to get our season seats. They had a guide meet us in the restaurant to show you all around. It was cool, because I've never been on the floor or court. Needless to say we got nose-bleeder seats.

I'm not a huge KG fan either, but I'd take him and Kobe plus 3 scrubs against anyone, any day.

I wanted to get opening night tix here against the Nuggets, but I'm broke.

Well, yeah, there at least 5 other players I would want over him:

Shaq
Duncan
Amare
Kobe
Lebron

But, unless the Lakers consult with you concerning all their potential trades, I wouldn't worry about your top 5.
