That's ok. Some of us are glad to not see the standings.

News and Notes:

Cincinatti Reds OF Austin Kearns fractured his forearm after being hit by a Ryan Vogelsong pitch. No word yet on the length of his absence, although it should be several weeks at least. This seems like the perfect time for a little cosmetic outpatient work on those flaps protruding from the sides of his head.

The Atlanta Braves' Chipper Jones went on the 15-day DL with a hamstring injury sustained while pretending to be an LF.

Randall Simon of the Pittsburgh Pirates re-aggravated a hammy while running the bases and was placed on the 15-day DL. The baseball world remains stunned that a physical specimen like Simon could fall victim to such a freak injury. Rumor has it that Simon was injured while attempting to run and hide that white spot on his face at the same time.

Julio Franco, Atlanta 1B, is said to be suffering from an inner ear infection and will miss at least the entire SF series. "Inner ear infection" is code for "prostate the size of a small child." No word on whether Franco will be carbon-dated during his time out.

I would guess if Mussina has you managing his fantasy team, he would want you to pick him to be on his team.

The Yankees look like they're going to bail Mussina out of another stinker.

What a spectacular meltdown by the A's bullpen.

As a Red Sox fan, I can safely say: they suck.

Damn, the Cardinals suck at home - I am so happy to have tickets to tomorrow night's game and Sunday's.

Actually, it should be pretty cool - second row bleacher seats right next to the Cards dugout in right field. Great seats - hopefully the wife can make it through the games.
