Compliments of SportsCenter:

Roger Clemens is batting .333 (3-for-9) which is higher than any NY Yankees position player's batting average (Cairo leads the Yankees with .300).

No trouble yet for the pitchers in the Sox/Yankees game. Scoreless so far.

Javier Vazquez has six strikeouts through three innings.

The point being that there are lots of haters out there looking for anything to latch on to. Good for ESPN that they're giving something for the hater horde to lap up.

Looking for "anything to latch on to"? It's not like they dug up a stat that is so restricted or absurd (like the only guy to average .300, steal 18 bases, and got 22 HBP per year for the last 6 years who's an Aries ). They're just looking at batting averages, comparing a pitcher to his former team--a pitcher who's playing his first year in the NL and his former team who's payroll is nearly $200M and loaded with All-Star hitters.

Sox still up 2-0 after six innings. Vazquez is now out. Martinez is up to 97 pitches. Will Francona keep him in...?

On another note, Alex Rodriguez continues to bounce back from his opening-season slump. 2-3 so far.

Maybe he should take some extra BP instead of burning up his Visa card in all the leather bars with Gay Rod.

Extra Innings? How do I get that? Do I need digital or satellite or something more than cable?

A sweep at Yankee Stadium for the Sox!

No call to Foulke today... but no worries. Williamson still hasn't given up an earned run this season, and closes out the game with two shutout innings. Pedro (0 runs, 7 strikeouts in 7) has had two great outings in a row.

The Sox will have a 1.5 game lead over Baltimore shortly and have a 4.5 game lead over the Yankees who fall to 8 and 11 on the season.
