Anyone know a decent source for Cubs tickets? (5/31 memorial day)

I'm going to my parents place (Chicago suburbs) Memorial Day weekend with my girlfriend, who has never been to a Cubs game. Unfortunately, the ONLY home game that weekend is on Memorial Day, May 31. I've got 3 other relatives who want to join me, so i'm looking for some place where i can purchase 5 reasonably priced tickets.

I've checked out eBay and craigslist and people want $75 and up for each ticket (to this regular season game?) !

I know it's a holiday, so i've got that working against me, but does anyone else have any helpful hints on where else to look?

Thanks!

Just go up to the game, you can easily find tickets for less then that from a broker before the game even starts. I woudl imagine the only ones going for 75 would be bleachers..

Thanks for that link, Deftones -- Those tickets seem a bit more reasonable than eBay...

SpaceBoy -- i've considered that too. My past experience with getting tickets last minute (at Fenway) have varied.. A busy night game had prices that were eBay-like, while an overcast after-rain game sold tickets for near-face-value prices.

Unfortunately, i'm thinking that since EVERYONE will be off of work, these prices will be crazy outside the park. But i suppose it can't be much worse than the eBay prices, so i might have to try that out anyways..

Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah. I don't know really. I've never seen tickets that high, except for bleachers on day of game outside the stadium from the hordes of brokers, unless it's like the sox vs cubs series or something..

GoldCoastTickets is the broker I use, if I need tickets to something, they're not to bad I guess, and I use them enough that they sometimes hook me up with a deal.. Still overpriced deal of course I see they have some for 55 each, but I think you could get better off ebay, or even day of game.

I might not go to the game, and if so would have 4 bleachers available.. I"m thinking about doing something else. If I happen to free them up, I'll let you know.

Great.. thanks -- i'd even be willing to throw you something extra for your trouble/time. But don't worry -- i won't assume anything and i'll still look around for the best deal in case you decide to still go to the game. I just spoke to my cousin and we both agreed that maybe we'll all just show up at Wrigley -- if we can't get tickets, we'll just hit a neighborhood bar, and my girlfriend can try to get to the game the following month when she's in Chicago for a conference (without me )..

Memorial Day is a bit tough for 'day of tickets' because everybody and their mother comes out of the woodworks to become Cubs fans for the summer.

While I hate to admit it, I think a scalper or somebody REALLY nice on craigslist will be your best bet.

I have used them a few times for last minute family/friends that come into town and want to got an event. They are okay and you can haggle a bit, but the holiday is on their side. Too bad they moved, I was right near them from the Lake Point Tower office.

Also, Space, Chi,Scorpio and I can escort your GF when she comes into town next month...

Just noticed that it's against Houston, that's going to be a tough one...especially if Pettite or Clemens is pitching.

This ticket-searching process is a pain in the @ss. Still no luck finding decent-priced tickets. Yeah.. i know i chose a lousy day, but that's the only home game during the whole long weekend!

Anyways, i probably won't get them, but i found left field rooftop tickets available for $110/each, which comes with free food and drink. Anyone care to comment about how good/bad of a deal that is?

Anyone not going to the game?

(oh.. and my girlfriend said she'd be able to manage by herself.. thanks for the offer, guys! )
