I didn't know there was going to be a movie. Being a Red Sox fan I think I know how it will end.

Why did they even make this movie? What was different about last year than from the 100 years before it? I have no desire to keep reliving this nightmare over and over and over and over...

...and yet I still do.

From the commercials I've seen for it, its say opens friday across New England. I'd love to watch it, but alas, being in Orlando, I'm more likely to see "We are Dreaming, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Movie".

I know they made this movie not knowing how the season would end, but I would rather skinny dip in a pool of steak knives than have to watch game 7 again.

Who wants to see that on the big screen? "Hey, let's take Boone's HR, show it at 100 times it's original size, and make Sox fans pay to see it." No thanks.

Thanks for the heads chrisih8u, being a semi-red sox fan was hoping to see it a theatre, but this will do instead. Consider it preordered.

Just as another FYI, About a week or so ago HBO Films released a great 1 hour documentary that I've caught a few times on HBO called "Curse of the Bambino". Talks about the curse and various other aspects of Red Sox History. Probably the last 20 minutes or so is dedicated to the '86 World Series and some great commentaries from fans and "famous" fans alike.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...v=glance&s=dvd

I enjoyed it quite a bit.

This came out on dvd today and I just finished watching it. The basic premise is that its a documentary that focuses on a bunch of Red Sox fans during the 2003 season.

I think the film as whole was way too negative. From the beginning, they kept showing the Red Sox losing. The first Red Sox win they showed was in June. The bad parts of the season were focused on alot more than the good. There were plenty of great moments and highlights they could have shown to balance it out.

As for the Boone HR, it sucked. It sucked so bad seeing it again, I almost puked. The way they showed it in the film was by having a split screen. One was showing two obnoxious bitches, another was showing an old guy, and the other was the HR. The bitches were on the ground almost crying and the old guy looked like he was dead. Then they cut to a Red Sox bar and everyone was just sitting there in stone cold silence. But the absolute worst part was when they showed Wakefield sitting at his locker with his head in his hands crying.

Funniest thing ever:

After game 7, speaking to Grady Little

"You did a great job. You should be manager of the year."
Spoiler:
Rudy Gulliani

Unfortunately, my local retailers don't seem to be carrying this. If I need to have that "kicked in the nuts" feeling, I'll have to order via the internet.

I've seen the pictures of Wake at his locker, and it sucks. I mean, being a knuckleballer in a situation like that has to be the worst.

Wakefield is a great guy. He's put up with alot of shit from the Red Sox and always did whatever he could do to help the team. It was really shitty to see him like that.

You're right. I'm back to my original position of "thanks, but no thanks" on this one.

If fans are on the floor crying like babies and people falling to the floor like they are dead just over a stupid game, something's out of whack.
