Miami Heat playoff thread

Woohoo! The Heat wrapped up the 4th playoff spot in the East tonight after thrashing Jersey and the Bucks falling to the Raptors.

Now we face New Orleans in the first round (with home court advantage), after starting the year 0-7. Amazing.

GO HEAT!

Not really amazing...it's the Eastern Conference

Sorry to say, I think the Hornets pretty much have this series. I'll say 4-2.

fun, young team to watch. one of the few Eastern conference teams that are in fact watchable imo.

i had skiptomylou (rafer alston) and eddie jones in my fantasy league and they were always (generally) putting up excellent numbers.

True, but to go from being one of the worst teams in the NBA at the beginning of the season to where they are now is pretty impressive.

And with the homecourt advantage, I think Miami takes this series.

While i'm a LAkers fan, I really like the Heat. That game with the Mavericks a couple of weeks ago was amazing. I'm really pulling for them in the the eastern conference. I really think Stan Gundy should get coach of the year for improving Miami. Go LAkers!!!!!!!!!!!and Heat

If Dwayne Wade can stay healthy and play consistent (along w/ Caron) I think they have one hell of a chance.

New Orleans has Baron. That's why they'll win.

I predict this thread will get more replies than the Laker thread.

I like how the eastern conference games precede the western conference games. It's kinda like in high school when the JV game would play before the varsity game.

Wade rules - too bad he couldn't avoid the injury bug. Then he would have had a chance to show who was the true rookie of the year.

Go Heat Go!!!

Is that still around? I remember hearing it around the run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 97... but never heard it again (and then I moved away from Miami). Heck, I even used to own a CD single of it (99 cents at Specs!).

Yeh, I still hear it once in a blue moon. They've really cut down on playing it so much though.

This team has me really pumped right now. If they can continue to play tough Defense and cut down on turnovers they'll be dangerous against whoever they play.

I want the Heat to win this series and (however unlikely) the conference as well. Eddie Jones has been one of my favorite players since he came into the league. Too bad the Lakers had to trade him away in order to allow Kobe to develop and become a starter. Odom is a great versatile player too, so I think they have a great chance to beat the Hornets.
