That list looks about right to me, just make sure Jerry Manuel isn't handling your closers :)

Yup, not much debate there. You've got those 5, then it's a pretty big dropoff from there.

I'm totally biased here and am only hoping for the best since I'm a Sox fan but I think Koch can learn to close even with his lost velocity. He struck out 2 batters in 1 inning today in a 12-5 laugher. He's going to get 30 saves this year.

Edit: I retract everything I said yesterday. After today's performance Koch should be put out of his misery. You suck, Koch.

It appears Koch is regaining velocity. I don't know why, but I guess it's something

Foulke is the only questionable guy on that list. But everyone who might "challenge" him is either coming off injury (Nenn, Percival, Hoffman) or has other issues (Urbina, Benitez, etc). So, yeah, unless one of those other guys, especially the injury list, steps up, this is the top 5.

Percival still managed 33 saves last year. Not bad for someone that's not 100%

If Percival ever cleared 60 innings pitched in a season again, then he might make a list like this

Percival is one of the top 5 closers in this league.

I'd say was. Until he's healthy, he's not.

I'd say he's not even the best reliever on his own team. :)
