Actually...maybe the 4th seed isn't so bad afterall. The Lakers do play better when the pressure is against them.
Let's say Dallas gets the 5th seed and LA gets the 4th seed. They'll have a relatively easier time against Dallas in the 1st round than any other team. Then they'll get to play Minnesota, which won't be easy, but Minnesota hasn't been far in the playoffs and LA has historically had an advantage aginst Minn because of Shaq. If Shaq is motivated enough, he can be the deciding factor against Minn. Then they can get the winner of SA vs. Sac. and don't have to play both SA and Sac in the playoffs. Or, a easier team if either of them get upset.

Maybe that's the strategy? I think that the Kings and the Spurs give the Lakers the most difficult time. If the Lakers are either 2 or 3 seed, then they'll most likely have to play both the Kings and the Spurs. By being the 4 seed, that'll force the Kings to play the Spurs, and the Lakers will only have to face one of the two.

(And for your conspiracy theorists), it's probably also good for TV. In the second round, having the Lakers-Wolves in one series and the Kings-Spurs in the other series will have much get better TV ratings than any other combination of these 4 teams, since out of these teams, the Lakers show best ratings and the Wolves show worst.

Someone said on the radio that Shaq wasn't that effective on Sunday cause his weiner was hurtin. That's why he didn't have that many rebounds or blocks. Today I found this picture:

The Grizzlies may be a more desirable team for the Lakers than the Mavericks since the Lakers match up against the Grizzlies pretty well. Plus, the Grizz don't have any playoff experience at all.

Not as a unit, but they do have JWill and Bonzi who've been there before.

You guys have split games with both teams, I don't know how the Mav games went, but the Grizz could have almost won the last one they played. Either way, Lakers better get their game face on for round one.

If I can count on the Grizz to pull one out against Minnesota, and I KNOW I can count on my Spurs to smack up the Blazers and the Nuggets (upcoming) then the Spurs will own the west.

Yep. Go Grizz.

Check out the Spurs conference record.

Yeah, Lakers tickets went on sale April 10 at 10:00am (I'm assuming Pacific time), and I slept in because I totally forgot. So by the time I checked ticketmaster.com around noon, tickets were long gone.

I love my Spurs, but oh get ready for the hatin' on their awesome defense. Nobody loves watching these "ugly ball" games 'cept me cuz I love dem Spurs!

So.... I think the Spurs have an excellent chance to re-oust the Lakers. And to those of you looking for the WCF to feature these two teams, it just may happen.

Good news, but I don't think we can expect the Warriors to beat them on Wednesday. Hell, the way the Lakers are playing, I don't know if they can win either of their final 2 games.

I see they split their games this year too (they should make it a rule to play odd number games or something).
