Maddux getting roughed up in his return to Wrigley, but the Cubs are threatening.

The Astros start Jared Fernandez, his patented "straight-as-an-arrow" knuckleball, and his 27.00 ERA with Pettitte on the DL against St Louis.

The pirates defense is just as bad.

They screw up a double play on two consecutive batters and now it's 5-2

Hmmm...

1st runner reaches on a fielding error. 2nd runner reaches on a fielding error. Both runners score on a throwing error. Why are those two runs showing up as Earned Runs against Benson?

DarkElf- What did you think of Petco Park?

Nothing makes a Monday @ work easier than visualizing Hampton leaving the mound, down 7 runs and unable to make it out of the third.

Maddux walks in a run to knock himself out of the game. He only goes 3 2/3rds.

Great...Chris Stynes and his .056 average is up with the bases loaded. Rally killer.

Cool...both runs were changed to unearned. Benson is looking good so far today...too bad I cant say the same for the defense behind him.

ToddSm66:

When viewing live stats online, all runs are earned while the inning is in progress and later changed to unearned after the official scorer reports them in as such.

I still can't believe the O/U for a Hampton-pitched game was at 7.

Can anyone tell me why Corey Patterson isn't playing every day? He's been benched twice in three days.

bad news: if the braves come back to tie or win, the mets fans will start throwing batteries

good news: the chances of either of the two mets fans hitting anyone, isnt very good

Woody's pitching tonight - this should be interesting. My co-worker is pissed: he has tickets to tonight's game and Pettite is on the DL.

Wow, that's some bitterness. Getting ready for a long season as a Braves fan?

Also, to the Mets' credit, they tend to sell out postseason games, unlike the Braves.
