Worst record ever to qualify for NBA playoff spot?

The Boston Celtics are doing there best to backdoor into the playoffs and it's possible for them to make it @35-47.Does anyone know if this would be the worst record ever for an NBA playoff team?

Boston has actually done this before. Made it in at 35-47 in 94-95

Other teams making the playoffs with under 40 wins in the since the late 80s expansion:

1988-1989: Portland (39-43)
1990-1991: New York (39-43)
1991-1992: Miami (38-44)
1992-1993: LA Lakers (39-43)
1995-1996: Sacramento (39-43)
1996-1997: LA Clippers (36-46)

Edit: Looked further back. Needed only to look one year. San Antonio made it in with a 31-51 record in 87-88 (of course, back then 8 of 12 teams in the Western Conference and 8 of 11 in the East made it into the playoffs. So it was hard to miss the playoffs). The Bulls made it in at 30-52 in 85-86 (so... don't feel like looking further back. But the answer to your question would be no, this isn't the worst playoff team record ever. Just the worst with this many teams in the league)

Snoop, Indiana's a good team and all, but if you put any of the top 5 or 6 teams from the West into the East, they would probably have Indiana's record, if not better.

You have to consider that the Western Conference teams that have all won 50 plus games are playing other Western Conference teams 4 times each, while they only play the Eastern Conference twice.

Indiana has the luxary of playing all of those horrible Eastern Conference teams 4 times each, while only the West twice.

It makes a huge difference. If Indiana was in West there's no way they have that record.

I think all the top teams in the West are destroying each other right now because they're all so good. It's even conceivable that whatever team is left standing after the West finals will lose to the Pacers (if they make it from the East) because they're just so worn out.

I remember that 1992-1993 Lakers team...took the Suns to 5 games (when it was still best of 5) before losing. If I recall correctly, the Lakers actually were pretty close to winning the game until Vlade started thinking he could shoot 3's

Good times...

YOu should have to finish .500 to make the playoffs. If that means only 4 teams for a conference make it, then so be it.

That's funny; regarding the Lakers, I've blacked out nearly the whole decade of the '90s.
