Let's Go 'Birds!!!

and Go Twins Go!

Since El Presidente is throwing out the first pitch at Busch today, they are opening the gates to the ballpark four hours before the game. Security is going to be the suck today.

I'll be at Houston's home opener tonight.

It's been great to listen to the anger of fans who bought tickets for tonight before Oswalt was announced as the starter. People were calling on the Astros to offer refunds, saying they were ripped off because neither Clemens nor Pettitte were chosen to go in game 1. They accidentally bought tickets to watch someone they've already seen...the horror! Idiots are funny.

Go RoyO!

It depends on your provider. If you've got TWC, they are using channels that have been showing the NHL package.

I hate this staggered start. How many opening days do they need? I don't know why they didn't start most of them yesterday. Day games on Monday and Tuesday

I wish I had a part-time job like my brother. The little shit was offered a ticket this morning and found someone to work for him this afternoon. He left for the ballpark less than an hour ago to enjoy his first opening day.

I'm happy to be going tonight, but I'm going with a group that will want to get there at about 6PM for a 6:05 first pitch. I hate that crap. Maybe I'll do the driving and make them enjoy some opening day BP.

All of you baseball fans within reasonable driving distance of an MLB stadium owe it to all of us fans with no teams nearby to go to plenty of games this year.

Living in Portland, it's a tank of gas round trip ($30-35), food ($10), 6 hours total drive, and a ticket ($20 or so for cheap seats) for me to hit up a Mariners game.

Does Minute Maid count as an MLB stadium?

If so, I should be going to around 20 this season. I'll pour a little of my 40 over the RF wall...just for you.

Hopefully, I'll bring home some pics tonight. Are there even any free image hosting sites out there anymore?

I used to go to a lot more games per season until my wife's company used the "recession" and cut-backs as a reason not to buy season tickets anymore. Those were great seats, too.

I do realize how lucky I am to live only 10-15 minutes from Busch Stadium and we try to go as much as possible. I remember running down there w/ my brother after McGwire hit #62 to celebrate. They eventually openned up the stadium towards the end of the game for all of the fans who did the same and I have about twenty copies of the Post-Dispatch Special Edition from that night in my basement.

If the Red Sox continue this trend they will be 0-162 which would be a big disappointment considering their offseason.

Let's go White Sox!!

Good luck cubbies.

Red Sox should be fine shape, once they stop leaving baserunners..

Stinks that neither Chicago team has an opening day game today. Oh well catching my first cubs home opening game this year next mon, last 4 years went to white sox instead.
