The Unpopular SPORTS Opinion Thread

Based upon the OTHER and MOVIE counterparts...

Ken Griffey Jr. is the most over-rated baseball player in the history of the MLB.
Kobe Bryant is a bastard.
Hockey sucks, Football is almost as bad.

Add on.

The NBA is the worst excuse for a sport since the World Wrestling Federation.

NFL Overtime is fine just the way it is.

A playoff system (of more than 4 teams) in NCAA football would do more harm than good.

The NFL is like NASCAR.. it's only worth watching as a bunch of highlights. The rest of the game is a snooze fest.

I could have broken Walter Payton's rushing record running behind the O-lines Emmit Smith had

Every college basketball champion since 97 or so onward should have an asterisk as the talent level has shrunk due to the mass exodus of players to the NBA.

The Yankees won their championships fair and square, played by the rules and did the best they could.

MVP means best player, since people's ideas of value are usually based off of half-truths and/or factless assumptions.

Rules should be called the same, no matter the situation (i.e. score, time, playoffs v. regular season)

Baseball is not boring nor is it too long, it is about tradition and strategy. Give me a 1-0 pitcher's duel over a 18-17 slugfest any day of the week.

The reason I love watching baseball is the ability of the game to allow a conversation throughout, whether it be the strategy of the game or anything else you can think of. I think a scene in the movie Just Married illustrates this. The main character has a question for his father who is currently watching a Dodger's game on a lazy afternoon. The father doesn't skip a beat in answering his question while fully keeping an eye on the game.

Basketball.....be it NBA, college, WNBA, CBA, High school, whatever...SUCKS. Football, Hockey, and Soccer are the only sports that matter. Baseball (or should I say "The Yankees") is a complete joke and would rank worse than basketball if it were not for the talent required to pitch and to hit.

I would agree that there needs to be something done to change the disparity of income between the teams in baseball. Baseball is far superior to Hockey.
