The Los Angeles Clippers are a pathetic NBA team

Starting 5:

Odom
Maggette
Brand
Miller
Olowokandi

Brand is a top-10 player in the league. Odom and Miller are great 2nd-tier players when they're healthy. Maggette and Olowokandi are no slouches. Quentin Richardson at the 6th man is hardly a slouch either.

Yet this team is 14-23. This team easily has enough talent to be 23-14, not 14-23.

Granted, Odom was gone for a majority of the first half of the season but still, there is just no reason why they should be this bad.

I'm watching the game tonight vs the Timberwolves and the Clippers are showing no teamwork whatsoever, nor are they showing any energy or heart. I think it's time for a coaching change. Someone's gotta fire these guys up.

El Scorcho, I really thought the Clippers would be a good team before the season started. With the acquisition of Miller I thought they'd have a chance of making the playoffs. I guess your right, they need a new coach.

I thought the Clippers would be a #7 or #8 seed in the playoffs. And I thought the Grizzlies would at least contend for a playoff spot as well.

Two teams with boatloads of talent that are grossly underachieving.

Kinda like Portland, eh? All that talent

It's not only a coaching change that needs to be done.. but an ownership change to ANYONE that cares about basketball and having a winning franchise. Sterling doesn't give a **** how his team is doing, hell, I don't think he even knows the players names. How can you have your starting 5 be without contracts next year? And poor Elgin will take the brunt of it.... again.

So sad... I may be a Laker fan, but I'm a Clipper fan too. I predicted how they would finish for the last 5 seasons and I haven't been wrong yet.

Portland bringing in these veteran stars, having (at one point) the deepest team in the league and never making it over the hump to win a championship. I'm not saying they are as BAD as the Clips.. just the situation of it.

The Clippers have the most talented team I've witnessed in a long time. Yet, they can't do what needs to be done. This team by far could beat Larry Brown's team in 92.

Once upon a time, I would've said the Warriors are worse, but not anymore...

The problem for the Clippers is that they play in the Western Conference against the Kings, Spurs, Jazz, Mavericks, and even the Lakers every other night. Makes it tough.

After a decade and a half of mediocrity there's no end in sight for the Clippers. I can't remember who actually admits to owning this team but he/they have done the NBA a diservice. If an owner doesn't want to commit the resources needed to make this team a winner then they should sell it to someone who cares enough to put a winner out on the floor. For all the criticism that Mark Cuban recieves, you have to admit at least one thing; he's a fan of his team and he's genuinely committed to seeing the the Mavericks win an NBA championship.

Right now the Clippers are merely a JV team for the rest of the league.

I just read an article yesterday where the players admitted that they are just trying to pad their stats because many of them will be free agents next year. So I guess it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that the team has such a bad record.

I blame it all on Olowakandi. He's never really shown his full potential and I've never really considered him to be a team player especially now in light of his recents comments.

The Clippers have often been plagued by an absolute lack of talent. This year they've got a killer starting 5 that is doing nothing.

Try:
Brand
Odom
Miller
Olowakandi
Maggette
Richardson

I think the only one safe is Piatkowski.

Thats just masochism.

Kandi is beyond gone. Done deal. Hes already apartment shopping in San Antonio. Maggettes probally bolting and maybe Richardson too. I dont see Lamar going anyplace though. Hes the best baller on that team. Hes a franchise level talent. Hes a Garnett in waiting.

Experience it just as important as talent. Though I did expect them to improve some this year. I'll still give them a year or two (assuming they can keep most of their players) before writing them off.

You really expect Kandi to be motivated to play when Sterling cut him off at the knees and all but said he wasnt getting paid? Theyre not a team theyre a bunch of guys playing to make themselves more valuable on the market. The Clips will never win anything with Sterling at the reins.

Maybe this thread motivated them. When the forum talks crap, everybody listens, even the Clips.

The Clippers are notable for their ability to suck consistently from year to year, but this year's suck title looks to be going to Denver or Cleveland.
