Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans game thread.

Who is it going to be? Make your predictions now!

Will Pittsburgh's #1 Rush defense stop Eddie George?
Can Tennessee's WR's take advantage of Pittsburgh's hobbled secondary?
Will Tommy Maddox and the offense go to 4 WR's and the Hurry Up early?
Are Steve McNair and Jevon Kearse healthy enough to lead the Titans?
Will Amos and The Bus Steamroll the Titans D?

I think Tennessee will cover. The Steelers can stop Eddie George but I don't think they can stop Steve McNair. I think the Tenn defense shuts down Maddox and company. This is not a good spot for the Steelers - short week against a team coming off a bye.

LOL you noticed? I did it just for you.

The only reason I want the JETS to win is so Pittsburgh will host the AFC Championsip after we whip up on the Titans!

But I will root for Rod Woodson.

Yeah because the Steelers have done so wonderfully at home in the playoffs (especially conference championship games) in the last 10 or so years.

Titans will win this game.

And then the next two... We deserve it, after the probowl snub.

Steelers' D might stop the running, but can they contain McNair?

Exactly - Pittsburgh's defense does not match up well against mobile QBs. By my count, they had 7 games vs mobile QBs this year: Brady, Gannon, Brooks, Vick, McNair, Brunell, Peete. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on Brunell and Peete, even though these 2 are not nearly as mobile as they used to be. Their record in these 7 games is 2-4-1. Throw out Brunell and Peete and they are 0-4-1.

i take it chad scott is still out? the secondary looked horrible against cleveland last week. if they don't get that figured out, i'm afraid the titans will tear them up.

Chad Scott is playing. And although he is not that great he is a lot better than Hank Poteat. I don't think Tennessee has the firepower that Cleveland did at WR especially since Dyson is out. They are not a high octane offense to begin with. Turnovers will be the key. Can Tommy Maddox limit his interceptions? If he does I think Pittsburgh had the WR advantage with Mathis and Randle El as #'s 3 and 4. Also I think Kendrell Bell will have a lot to do with how the Steelers defense performs. He really helps solidify the run defense. If he is in there it will up to McNair to beat them because Eddie George won't. The scary thing is we all know McNair is good enough to beat you and he plays well in big games.

Well, Jevon Kearse won't be able to play every down for the Titans, they're now saying. But so what...the Titans D has averaged 15 points per game over the last eleven games without Kearse so it's no big deal.

When they played earlier in the year the Titans were leading 31-7 when Maddox went out at the end of the 3rd quarter, so I doubt he's feeling too confident heading into Nashville, but you never know.

Titans by 10.

Steelers 31, Titans 17.

I think Pittsburgh will handle the Titans quite nicely. I heard on the local news that Pittsburgh is thinking about playing Plaxico at cornerback on third and long downs...should be interesting. I feel that the Steelers will establish a solid running game early, which will open up the secondary for Tommy-The-Gun. The defense will shut Tennessee down completely! George will have under 75 yards, and McNair will have under 200 passing with more interceptions than TD's. Pittsburgh will thrive in the 35 degree temperature, the Titans will not.

Pittsburgh will advance, only to lose to the Jets next week at home.

Now that's not the best start the Steelers could've hoped for.... didn't look like they put up much of a fight on D

steelers turn the ball over on their first drive
e. george runs all over pittsburg
and mcnair just rain a qb draw on third down for a touchdown

7-0 about 4 minutes into the game
