I don't think I'd take the underdog in any of those bets. Maybe Atlanta, but even that's iffy.

I think taking atlanta and the spread will be the safest bet of the week by far.

Atlanta has only lost 1 game all year to the spread -- best in the NFL. Also, with the roll that they're on, and McNabb not being fully mobile, I think it's a safe bet.

Like I said, if I were to take one it'd be that game. However, McNabb was said to have looked sharp during practice this last week. This bet would be based solely on how badly they trounced Green Bay.

I think Pittsburgh and the Jets could be very solid bets. The Jets especially given that they did not expend a lot of energy in the 2nd half and get an extra day of rest. Also Oakland's secondary is decimated by injuries.

i covered on both spreads but the browns and the giants are both pathetic for the leads that they blew late in the game........i can only shake my head knowing that these teams both had game in hand only to completely crumble and end up losing....its pitiful.

Niners and Falcons are the weakest of the remaining teams.

Falcons have Vick though, and he may cause some problems for the Eagles, although I don't really see it being enough for them to win.

Raiders and Jets will be a dandy of a game, but I'll pick the Bay Area over the New York team for the 2nd week in a row. Rich Gannon and Jerry Rice and Tim Brown and all those veterans will overcome a strong performance by Chad Pennington.

Tennessee and Pittsburgh are both pretenders. I'll take the Steelers.

And as for my team, the Niners. The Bucs will definitely shut down Hearst and Barlow, and I don't know if Garcia and Owens will be enough. I'll take the Niners again, even though in my mind, I know they'll probably lose.

If the defense shows up in Tennesse in any way, shape, or form the Steelers have a legitimate shot at winning this thing. Anything is possible with Tommy Gun. Could we be seeing another AFC Championship game in Pittsburgh if the Jets pull an upset? We'll see.

Philadelphia
Tampa Bay

Oakland
Tennessee

I hope I'm wrong about Oakland and TB winning, though. I think the two closest games will be Atlanta-Philadelphia and Oakland-New York. If Philly gets by Atlanta I think they'll go to the Superbowl. Otherwise, I think Tampa Bay would beat Atlanta again.

In the AFC I think Oakland will probably go to the Superbowl if they can get by the Jets, which might be a struggle. Otherwise, if the Jets win, I think Tennessee will go to the Superbowl. The Jets would have to play at Nashville where teams playing there for the first time are 2-18. I think most people have kind of forgotten about the Titans even though they were the only undefeated (5-0) team in December and have won 10 of 11. Still, I don't think they could win at Oakland.

I bet Titans win easily. I went to the game earlier in the season where the Steelers were outplayed in every aspect of the game. Plus we knocked Maddox out that game, and I bet anything he's gonna remember that come game time..

Can't wait, flying down for the game, should be a good one, and will be sure to put some money on this one.

I personally like

Atlanta
New York
San Fran (Tampa can't score, they win by a field goal on this one prob)
Titans

I will never post again if the Niners win. That's how sure I am that the Bucs are going to win.

There I said it!

The Jets are probably the safest bet. Their's no lock like betting against the Colts like their was last week.

On review, I'm not sure about the Titans. They did win 10 of 11, but 7 of those 10 wins were against Houston, Cincy, Jacksonville and Indy. That said, they had quality wins against the Giants, New England (pasted them) and of course against Pittsburgh.

SO as it stands now my picks are
Jets
Steelers (still my shakiest pick)
Philly
TB

Not really a telling statistic considering that Tampa was a doormat for most of their first 20 years. I'd like to know what the head-to-head record is since around '97 or so.

I agree with you. I felt the same thing with the stat I saw where they said the steelers are undeafeted by the titans in playoffs, when they're really just counting the days of the oilers. How that makes any sense, is beyond me.
