Does anyone else hate the Duke basketball program?

I'm sitting here wtaching Duke play Clemson and I get tired of the media's love with Duke. Dick Vitale isn;t announcing this game but he's the world's biggest Duke a** kisser.

I hate the media's love with Duke. I don't hate Duke though, except that its too easy to recruit the best players there... brilliant program and coaching though... I guess I'd call it envy more than hate.

"Hate" is a rather strong word

I have a ton of respect for Coach K and what he has accomplished at Duke. You can't deny the fact that almost every McDonald's All-American recruit wants to play for the guy and Duke is in the enviable position of picking amongst these kids.

It would be a lot easier if he was like a Bob Huggins...very easy to dislike

I don't hate their program; it's very respectable. I do, however, root against them in any and all situations.

ditto. And being from Maryland, I will support the hometown teams in other situations as well. There's almost nothing sweeter than seeing Duke lose in the NCAAs. Maybe a Yankees playoff loss.

My feelings exactly. I also have this same relationship with Michael Jordan, the San Francisco 49ers and the Lakers. Wait a minute, I do hate the Lakers .

I hate the media obsession with them and most of their fans are giant tools. I remember over the summer some of their fans were talking about we don't recruit players we select. Then Ndudi Ebi selected Arizona over them after he was a "lock" to go there, then of course they never wanted him.

I do have respect for what they've done and K but I never cheer for them.

As a Maryland fan I must not comment on this. Simply listing my thoughts on Duke would get me institutionalized.

Duke has an amazing basketball program, especially in its consistency.

...And that's why they share the same special little place in my heart as the Yankees. (Although I haven't gotten a "Duke Sucks" t-shirt yet )

I love the Duke program with all my heart. I also agree with Duke Vital when he said Duhon and Williams are the best backcourt of all time. Duhon is probably my favorite player on Duke's team this year. He's not overrated or anything like that. One more thing Duke never gets the calls from the refs, they call the games fair when Duke is playing.

Don't forget Williams was the 2nd best PG in all of basketball last year at Duke behind Kidd.

Williams never choked at the FT line. Who else would you want shooting FT's when the game is on the line?
