Dec. 28, Continental & Alamo Bowls

Continental Tire Bowl, 11 AM EST

Virginia

Vs.

West Virginia

What will happen: Virginia might have looked great at times, it looked too ugly against the Virginia Tech running game to think it can stop the West Virginia rushing attack. The Hokies rolled for 272 yards, Penn State rumbled for 296, and Georgia Tech ran for 211. Virginia is a solid team, but the offense could have problems if the West Virginia defense plays as well as its capable of. West Virginia should be playing in the Gator Bowl, and will prove it with this performance.
CFN Prediction: West Virginia 31 ... Virginia 17

Alamo Bowl, 8 PM EST

Wisconsin

Vs.

Colorado
What will happen: With a healthy Brown, Colorado should be able to rumble at will. Wisconsin will move the ball on the ground as well and should be able to mix in the pass better than Colorado. Barry Alvarez is always strong when he's given time to prepare going 6-1 in bowl games. This game will take about an hour and a half with each team keeping the clock rolling. The Badgers will keep this close, but they had problems with the power running game of Michigan a few weeks ago giving up 175 yards to Chris Perry. Chris Brown is even better.
CFN Prediction: Colorado 24 ... Wisconsin 20

I am a Virginia fan. Plus Rich Rodriguez turned down the Texas Tech gig three years ago, so I am not his biggest fan .

I think both of these games will be pretty good.

looks like rich decided they cant win this game on the ground.. so they have to pass

too bad they got intercepted so quick to set up an easy fg for uva and move the lead to 38-10

Not surprising to see Virginia win, but I really thought West Virginia would have more success on the ground ... they just got man-handled at the line.

Now, what kind of crap is this? It's Saturday, and I have to wait 6 hours for the next freakin' bowl game. COME ON!!

West Virginia got smoked. I'm not quite sure why they were getting so much respect.

Three things you can generally count on in life: death, taxes, and WVU choking in a bowl game.

wow.. great drive by wisconsin to tie the game at 28 with 51 seconds left

they needed several long 4th down conversions to keep the drive going.. and orr really got bailed out after dropping an easy ball that should have been a touchdown and forcing a long 4th down attempt..

will we get an overtime game??

well.. colorado decided to just kill the final 51 seconds of the game and force overtime.. i guess because they cant pass the ball, they didnt want to risk it.

so we are going to overtime..

wisconsin is on defense first

Great to see this game go to OT. As a Colorado fan, though, I don't like how the team's nearly destroyed with injuries. It would be really nice to have Purify right now with Brown dazed and confused on the sidelines.

wow.. negative yards there.. so all they accomplished was making the fg tougher

might as well have kicked it on first

edit - missed.. wisconsin can win it with a fg

edit II - wisconsin hits the 37 yard fg to win in overtime

Great game. A bit sad watching Brown sitting on the sidelines, though. The guy's one of the best RBs in the country, and he can't catch a break with those damn injuries. He would have been a huge factor (along with the Right Guard and two Centers and Hodge ...) in OT.

Sweet, I was able to call both of the upsets today! AND I have no clue what I'm doing, yet I'm still rocking in the football pool I'm in!
