So, Packerfans: Would you rather have Favre win/retire or not win but stay?

Would you rather have Favre win another ring this year and go out on top, or not win the Super Bowl this year and stay for another year (or so)?

This is a really tough question. Either answer has plenty of plusses and minuses. I guess I would rather have the Pack win another Super Bowl, have Brett retire and give the coaches plenty of time to find a replacement (meaning trade way up in the draft and get the next phenom).

On the other hand, maybe Brett is just riding out all the media hoopla and he'll really be around for 5-6 more years.

One can dream, right?

Hmmm, division champs, pro-bowl starter, possible 4th MVP, possible Super Bowl. You just can't get any closer to the 'top' than that can ya?

Is this a trick question?

Isn't the goal of any team to win?

The question is would you rather win once and possibly suck otherwise...

or never win and just have good teams for a few years.

The obvious choice to me is win.

This of course assumes Favre would retire should he win and that he would stay around several years if he didn't win it all. Retirement in the scope of athletics is hardly a permanent tense.

I agree with Jericho. The point is to win the Superbowl, both as a fan and as a player. It would be incredibly selfish for me, as a fan, to root for the failure of one of my favorite players, simply so he feels inclined to stick around longer.

Tough one...

But I want Brett to win one more Super Bowl at least, so if that means he retires... so be it...

But, I would hope that, even if they win the SB, Brett will play one more year, so that the Packers can start finding/training a replacement.

Of course win the Super Bowl!!

Nobody knows what next year could bring, but I would hope that he's able to stick around for another year or two. Heck, look at Gannon, who's almost four years older than Brett. He's the only other MVP candidate that I wouldn't mind winning the thing over Brett.

Good question. NEXT TOPIC!!!

I think this season is possibly Bret's last chance for the big one.

For those of us who can spell his name, I would love to see Brett go out on top.

Ummm, being from Wisconsin, exactly who is your favorite team? I'm guessing it isn't the Pack, huh?

No NFC team has won 3 games to reach the Super Bowl since 1982. If the Pack actually GET to the Super Bowl this year AND win it, the Favre deserves to retire.

I'm a Vikings and 49'ers fan. Vikings since I live a few miles from MN (like 35 miles from Twin Cities) and I've just always liked the 49ers as far back as I can remember liking football (since like mid-80's)

Im a big NFC North fan so I hope Brett wins his second SuperBowl but he has to go to Tampa and Philly where he has never won to win the big one and I dont see it happening.

This year's draft is loaded with talent at QB... don't think the Pack will need to trade up for a good one.
