Stud

I saw Kobe play when he was in high school and James is better than him at the same age.

I'm certainly no expect, but with all the information I have, I'd say a stud. A few high school guys have really impressed me. Kevin Garnett was one. Jason Kidd was another. This guy just looks good. He may or may not be a superstar a la Jordan, Bird, Johnson. But he will be a very good player in the NBA.

Stud ... he's not just a "man against boys" talent ... the guy sees the game. Given some time to grow into the NBA game, and he'll be a force in the league.

Stud.

Tremendous physical ability and he sees the court extremely well, especially for a high schooler.

Given a few years to hone his skills (namely outside J) and improve his basketball IQ (namely shot selection), and he'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Stud - when he learns how/when/where to shoot - wait a minute, he is going to the NBA, that stuff doesn't matter anymore. Doh!!!!

Stud...

A quick unrelated question...
How does the NBA draft work? Someone told me that they do a lottery and any team really has a chance at getting first overall pick but the worse teams have better chances with getting better draft positions, is that true?

I'm in no way an NBA fan but I always thought they did it the same way NFL and the MLB did it, the teams with the worse records pick first and it goes in order worst to first.

No NBA has a lottery, that means if you dont make the playoffs you have a shot to get #1 pick with the worst team haveing the best chances at getting the #1 pick.

What they do is throw in a bunch of balls in a machine that spins representing teams, the team with the worst record has the most balls, the best record team in the lottery has the least amount.

Actually it's like a state lottery now. Teams are given a combination of #'s. The worse your record the more combo's you get. Then 4 lotto balls are drawn and if you have those #'s you get the 1, 2, or 3 pick in the draft.
